Questions & Answers

The tool can be used with Dremel tool bits and such, or is it too large to accommodate them?

The tool bits on this are not designed for use with Dremel tools.

What is the operating pressure of the 3gal air compressor for this?

As Josh mentioned, the tool will run, but not for a long time. It is best to have a 20 gal compressor if you use it regularly.

Thank you for visiting my blog! It's an exhaust in the rear!

Does metal stick to the plastic when you use it?

The die grinder is way quieter than any other die grinder
5/5

Quite honestly, I believe that this die grinder is among the best I have ever bought. While using the composite body I like how light it feels and the good grip it has, as well as one major reason why I like it so much because it does not get cold like the metal body does. In addition, I like that the grinder is quieter than other ones I have used in the past because I have been around other technicians who have SUCH LOUD ones that it's almost deafening. It is really hard to hear anything when you work in a shop setting. There is a lot of banging, smashing, and even loud air hammers, so once your career is completed, you lose most of your hearing so investing in something that makes a difference is definitely worthwhile. It's true you can wear ear protection, but the results might not be the best. Two things I would like to point out about the grinder is the switch as it is very unique and you don't see that often where there is no safety lever to flip back to operate the grinder. Although the process is much faster than flipping the lever back and pressing it, you might be wondering why it takes an extra 5 seconds but trust me, holding this grinder makes a noticeable difference in grip and comfort. When I purchased this grinder, I thought the lever would break in a few months. However, after dropping it and thrashing it around, it has held up pretty well and so far hasn't broken. Another brand with this feature that I've found hasn't been as successful as this one. The power of this die grinder is also impressive, and it doesn't slow down its rotation You will not see any slowdown or even stop even if heavy pressure is applied to a cut off disc for example. In my experience, using even a slight pressure on the disc will cause it to break before that, so it's nice to have some with a lot of torque as I've used others with slight pressure and it would stop and you'd have to release the pressure before it could So, all in all, it has a great deal of power for such a small device. It does come with two collet wrenches that can be removed and tightened, but they are very small but very Almost all the wrenches I use are too small, so I usually use regular ones. In addition to what has been said before, it is very handy to have a swivel location where the air hose is attached, as it makes it easier to hold and more comfortable to move around as it has to be rotated and moved so much. One of them I did indeed use for a few months, but I went through three of them before they all started leaking air. The reason for that was probably that they were so cheap that I just converted it back to a In case you purchase one, you'll just have to replace it since you won't be able to use it permanently. Otherwise, the price was very reasonable and the device continues to work even after almost daily use for a year. Stop shopping because I think you may have found the perfect unit if you're looking for a new unit. My experience with Aircat products has always been fantastic, and this one is no exception.

Worked for me! There's nothing bad to say about this grinder
5/5

In this case, I'm using a 20 gallon tank This is a 5 HP computer. It is easy for the compressor to handle this tool's air consumption, since it is able to keep up with the CFM air consumption of the A good bit of torque makes this tool useful for grinding heavier objects. This tool should be used with some sort of dust/chip collection system. By sharding steel along the edges of my work area with a carbide burr, I was able to completely cover myself and my work area.

Aircat has provided us with yet another great tool
5/5

There is nothing better than a grinder like this. The camera has plenty of power considering its small size, it fits well in the hand, and it is very This could be used in the same room as your spouse while she watches TV without bothering her. It was the 6" D/A palm sander that I purchased my first Aircat tool. I now intend to purchase all of my air tools from Aircat in the future. The quality of their work is incredible.

It's for the best since my other air tool had blown its internal gasket
5/5

Because I've experienced great results with NitroCat 1200K impact guns, I was tempted to give AirCat a repeat order. I found this thing to be exceptionally quiet and extremely light. My jaw dropped as I realized what had happened! The exact opposite of a waste of money. The thing is user friendly enough that I can carry on a normal conversation without raising my voice. In addition to the air angle grinder, I also purchased the sander. My praise is the same for everyone.

The throttle is difficult, but the tool is nice
3/5

The Aircat impacts I own and love have been very helpful to me so I decided to try the die grinder. There would be no problem with the build quality and I have no doubt about its use- For many years, this has been a free tool. It is true. It was very hard to modulate the speed with the throttle. Full blast is a great option if you only wish it to be that. Faster speeds should be fine. Slower speeds aren't. Rather than sending back and ordering a CP, I ended up sending it back.

There are lots of reasons to love It is a pleasure to use this die grinder
5/5

With its composite body, you get a good grip, it's light, and it doesn't get as cold as metal. My grinder is much quieter than all the others I have, or any grinder I have ever owned. Over the last forty years, I've worked in noisy shops at various times, and the effect of noise on me is now real enough for me to wear It is therefore worthwhile just because of that It is truly noticeable that there is a difference in noise. In any case, I wear hearing protection whenever I'm in the shop, but I can still feel the effects of noise. I would like to thank you for this switch. That safety lever you have to flip back is one of the things I love about it. This is the grinder that I choose when I know I'll handle it a lot during a job, since I can just grab it and squeeze the handle, which is a more intuitive and faster method than swinging around a pole at the end of a job. There is no need to slow down your work pace in this Power is good and it doesn't bog down under pressure, which is very important. In fact, I even had to use a dull burr in an extreme case and the grinder worked great. While my grinder is of course no wimp and I can bog it down quite easily with enough pressure, just like with another grinder of similar quality. However, I normally speak about reasonable work practices and speak from experience in comparing it to the best. Having said that, I've never bought the cheap ones from Harbor Freight or Home Depot, so I can't compare them with There are several types of collet wrenches, and they are small but powerful. *On a side note, I also bought the AirCat right angle grinder about the same time and it stopped working after about a month, but I think it was an uncommon defect in the angle head that was not common to all of them. I got it stuck shortly after taking it out of the box I had suspected it wouldn't last, but it came unstuck after a few uses, so I continued using it- Keep the grease in the head and maintain the oil in the unit regularly, but it eventually stopped working. If I need another right angle, I'll probably try another one as well as my antique Dotco that I can't seem to get rid of. It is suggested that you use a swivel where you attach the air hose, and I agree with Using a swivel and a short whip makes my tool more comfortable to use, as well as preventing it from being damaged.

This is a lightweight and comfortable holding device
5/5

My DeWalt heavy grinder is still my go-to tool for thick materials. Here's the way to go if you're dealing with aluminum and thin metals. Using this tool allows me to work on thick materials with my carbide rotary files. If it were available again, I would buy it. In fact, I purchased one for my son as a birthday gift. That's what he loves about.
