Are there warranties? don't want to invest in an extended warranty, I just need to know for how long a product has a warranty and how I can take advantage of ?

According to the operator's manual, the warranty is valid for five years following the purchase date. The tool is excellent, I own two of them.

With 3/8" holes, how well does it work?

I have no problem with that. My SD card is a corded one and I like to carry it wherever I go. Tapcons has been used extensively by me, and it did a great job. In a sloppy drill, the holes will be too small to grab onto. Despite its tapcons problems, this drill still performs well.

Does the provided charger have the capability to charge both a 12v and 18v battery?

The charger is just a 12v unit
