Questions & Answers

Even when a drill bit is not inserted, is it normal for the chuck to shake a little when in drill mode?

As well, I noticed some runout on my brand new DCH133, it was about I am 6". Dewalt was notified to see what they have to say about this matter In the case of drilling a 0 I have to run out because the holes will be larger than intended. I want it to be a 25" hole, so I'm going to run it out to a 0" An optional 31" hole is available. The diameter may be too large for the fasteners if they do not allow for it.

In order to use the sds max tile chisel bits, do I need any particular tools?

SDS+ is the best tool to use, but unless you can find the SDS+ to SDS Max adapter, you probably need a different one

This drill drills, hammers, and chips, or hammers and drills only. ?

There are three settings on the device. There are three types of drills hammer drill, drill/chip, and drill/drill.

Your battery held up pretty well for your projects, did it?

I would say that it held up just fine.

My choice originally was between this and an even more expensive compact version, but I'm really happy I chose this one over the other
5/5

Or maybe the so much more expensive Dewalt DCH273B or even I have chosen this You should buy this drill if you do not plan on drilling overhead or if you do not plan on using the hepafilter. You can feel the difference between its lighter weight and greater power. Since getting this drill, I have not had to hassle with cords and / or fend off 8 electricians over one cordless drill that broke- I am now able to focus on what matters most our customers. The biggest problem I've seen is keeping my workers on the jobsite. I agree with another reviewer that it is hard to keep my workers on the job site It is forbidden to be borrowed by others. My choice originally was between this and an even more expensive compact version, but I'm really happy I chose this one over the other. (huge, since I already carry well over 100 pounds of tools in my bag), and it takes up less room in my bag (this compact model may be shorter, but it's How does this compact version differ from the standard The compactness can be useful on rare occasions (i. e. The process of drilling holes so that wedge anchors can be installed to anchor heavy switchgear that's already installed- It would be easier to use the compact version inside the switchgear with its smaller size). Additionally, if you had to drill overhead in cement all day, the hepafilter would be a lifesaver. In the future, I may still purchase the compact version based on my job needs, but this one will be what I carry every day! **Also, I think it is important to mention that I also carry Milwaukee tools (I love them) and considered their rotary hammers, however dewalt's bulk and battery life kept me from making a decision.

I bought this to rip up old tile flooring and it worked just fine! It was bought to help me remove old ceramic tile from my kitchen
5/5

The sledgehammer/chisel method was ineffective, and I would have to rent a demo hammer which would have cost almost as much, so I got the tool for future use at least. Having already purchased a couple of 20V brushes from DeWalt, I bought this product primarily because it enables me to use the same batteries for every tool. In the end, I had no problem using the hammer only setting with a flat SDS plus chisel bit to remove the tile. My back was relieved to find that this method was much easier on my back than other methods. Additionally, the drill did not have any issues ripping through thinset. My speed was pretty slow but I managed to lay 100 square feet of tile and thinset in four hours. The only minor complaint I have is that the adjustable handle can loosen when used because you must turn in the opposite direction As your hand naturally moves when you are using a tool, you should loosen it by turning it in a clockwise direction. Make sure your battery pack is as large as the one I had, as the drill ate up the battery pretty quickly because I only had two small packs meant for an impact driver. My overall experience with the tool was excellent and I recommend it highly.

An excellent hammer drill with lots of versatility! There is plenty My basement has an old concrete slab that needs to be broken up
5/5

I used this and a pair of chisels to do so. As I have used it with different drills in the hammer drill mode, I can also recommend it. It is an excellent tool, and its cordlessness makes using it so easy. There is an angle adjustment on the front grip to allow you to get a comfortable grip no matter what angle you prefer. The depth guide works as it should, but the bar is In addition to using it with a 4" core drill, I am intending to make a hole in my brick wall using it. We'll see if I can get through this drill without breaking my wrists since the drill is said to have a clutch system. When I drill the monster hole, I will update both the performance and the performance chart. The following notes are updated as of This finally worked when I used a core drill to drill a 4" hole. As soon as I got off center, the clutch mechanism worked very well and it allowed me to release the core. Although it clicked like a fishing reel, my wrists were protected from the force since the spool did not turn. Thank you for your performance! I am very pleased with it!.

It is a very nice tool, I really like it
5/5

Hammer drill of great quality. A 5AH DeWalt pack works fine, and I get a lot of holes drilled with it. An easier way to carry this is with a light, compact 2AH battery However, there is one thing I don't like about it, perhaps because it's brand When pressed against the hammer mechanism, the chuck can be difficult to depress. The drill just drills into a brick wall instead of hammering it. need to push the trigger two more times Grasp the bit so hard that you can feel it vibrate three times. The skinny, fragile bit is a nightmare to work on a ladder while it's up there. The problem doesn't occur when drilling in to a slab. It takes only a few sharp strokes to engage the hammer. There is a little burr that appears on the edge of the SMS slot of the Bosch bit I use when using an SMS chuck. After honing it, it worked for a few minutes. I had to hone it again, just to be sure. Regardless, I do not know if the Bosch bits are made of soft metal, or if the SMS chuck in the DeWalt is defective, since I used the same bit in another old corded DeWalt and it worked fine. You may just have to break it in. Hopefully, it's not too difficult.

Small projects or projects with shorter deadlines are suitable for this
4/5

With one caveat, it is a fantastic hammer drill. Small projects, such as tearing out tiles in a small bath, are best suited to it. The drill would only last about 30 minutes before the batteries (5A) stopped working and the drill became extremely hot. There is about 2000 square feet of plaster on a brick wall and I need to remove it. As soon as the tool was warm, it would consume the batteries and I was only able to get 15 minutes of run time at most. My suspicion is that I am doing something wrong, despite my efforts. By applying pressure to the object being removed, you will draw more electric current from it. Having tried lightly pressing and firmly pressing the hammer while hammering on the plaster, both were met with the same issues. This is why I switched to the corded version, and hoping this will help our situation. Otherwise, this drill is excellent, but be aware that its battery life is not long enough to hold up hours of heavy use, unless you have a stockpile of spare batteries I'm afraid it doesn't run long enough for our use even though it has a good amount of weight and produces a lot of force when hammered.
