Thanks for contacting me. Yes, this can be used to paint a car, though you will need an external regulator to control the paint sprayer's psi and filters to prevent oil carryover that could cause fish eyes in the paint. I'd like to thank you for your help
LEVEL 78 IS THE DBA LEVEL FOR THE SS5. I appreciate your kind words!
No shut-off is provided by this compressor because the oil level is low.
We use a Nidec Motor Corporation motor in our SS5L5.

It is not official, but Ingersoll Rand needs to take down this sentence from their product page "The motor runs on a standard 30-volt power source" 230 volts, 2 amp There is no noise as the unit is powered by 12 volts from the household outlet. First of all, a standard 30-amp 230V household outlet does not exist. Also, this phrase implies that the product is bundled with a power cable with a male plug, when, in fact, it is Last but not least, just so I can trash the whole line, it doesn't matter that the motor runs quietly because it's not the part of an air compressor that is loud. The review should be as follows How the shipment was packaged for shipping looked fine. There was a large patch of paint missing around the air intake. If it was ever pressure tested, it likely scraped or smashed off within a few seconds of connecting or disconnecting I applied some spray paint when I observed that the damage was only cosmetic. When it was painted, there were four areas where the bracket for the piston and motor met the tank that had not been The products are once again spray painted, but I expect them to come with finishes, so the star is knocked It remains to be seen what the durability of the motor and piston will be. Despite it supposed to last the lifetime of the product, I expect the motor to last just 20 years. The piston on the other hand, if it fails while the oil is still in it, I will never buy another Ingersoll Rand product again, and this review becomes a zero. A star.
After my old 25-gallon one failed, I bit the bullet and got this one. It's amazing how much difference there is. The dead-on connection in the air lines is actually still connected, so I have 85 gallons of fuel currently. There is a difference, I no longer have to wait for the tank to fill itself for 3 minutes before using the tools again because of this new compressor, which fills three times more than the old one, in less than half the time it took before. Warning Please observe the following precautions. These items do not come with it oil, a fitting, an air pressure regulator/filter or an My personal view is that this is a benefit. As long as it works the way I want it to, I bought it. Draining the compressor is much more convenient now that I changed the drain fitting and added an extension. A pair of foot pads isolators was bought, as was the oil/air filter package and an electrical cable to the length I required. The regulator I bought for my application is of high quality.
My purchase was made from Amazon for the lowest price available anywhere, particularly when shipping is included. The box I received was well-packaged and You should make sure it is in place before removing it from the pallet, as it is very heavy. Despite being quite loud compared to the typical small 110v compressors you find at Sears/HD/Lowes, it is still not as noisy as these other models. Only a light hum can be heard when the garage door is closed. Aside from that, it is exceptionally efficient as well. With Ingersoll Rand's all season lubricant, it fills rapidly and operates continuously for long periods of time. Powerful with plenty of battery capacity. The design is very straightforward and simple The effect should be that the device will be more durable and reliable in the long term. The technical support at IR is outstanding, and these are some of the best compressors on the market. The main benefit is that you can focus on the job, not the setup or management of the tools. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when buying this in case you don't have any experience with this type of product. The air pressure coming out of the tools will need to be controlled by an air regulator. A built-in regulator is not included on this model as it differs from smaller models found at Home Improvement stores The gauge measures the pressure in the tank. Another thing you might want to think about is Amazon/Northern Tool have the lowest prices I could find for them, as well as IR. Please specify 2. Even though this unit is rated at 30 AMPS, it spikes higher than that The 30 Amp breaker kept tripping off the power when we had the power on. (who were very helpful) I talked to the IR tech support. Their recommendation is for the unit to be hard-wired (not plugged in) and to be connected to a 60-amp Could you do it for a lot less ? Replacement of the wiring (EXPENSIVE) with six gauge copper (EXPENSIVE), installation of a breaker and hardwired connection with a disconnect was needed. I suppose so. Nevertheless, I wanted the warranty protection, IR's recommended settings in case of malfunction and to be up to code with the current system. 3.
There is a manual drain valve at the bottom that is a PAIN to access. If you can't reach the unit easily, mount it high enough that you can reach or get a device that allows you to drain it without having to crawl around the floor with a pair of needle-nose pliers You need pliers with a nose. I know. (Ask me how. Then, 4)
. I like the 1/2" NPT outlet, but understand that the local home improvement stores may not offer In order to get my regulator, connectors, and hose online, I had to purchase them online. IR All-around should be used according to the manual You should use season lubricant if you want constant service. Despite some issues with the product, I am overall very happy with it.
