After receiving the air compressor, it was time to break it in. I tried starting the compressor again with the hose attached, but it wouldn't work. I called DeWalt, and they advised me to remove the compressor and check the valves. There was damage to the package upon delivery from the shipper. In addition to the broken flywheel, the cover of the safety mechanism was also broken. I was able to keep it at 1/3 of the regular price from Amazon. With the discount, I was able to order the replacement parts for a lot less than the 1/3 off. There are no oils in the transmission, so it is a lot quieter. In my case, I had to replace a 20 year old oilless type that would run me out of the shop after being on for too long. Upon arrival, I was impressed with how fast he arrived. I was able to get started straight away. There is no leak of air. A bit low on oil was a down side. Other than that, it was extremely quiet. In addition, the comments the other comments made about the air release and oil drain plug are correct. These are hassles. I have used it for a couple of weeks and I am happy with it.
