Questions & Answers
The bag and the air filter that came with the vacuum are both used. The air filter must be replaced on a regular basis, but it is not a part of the bags.
The current filter is functional. The bag is wrapped around the filter and down the vacuum's interior.
It is not going to fit.
I was given two bags.

This bag is great, and I use it without the filter in my Ridgid 4 gallon vacuum, but it's way too expensive for something I throw away so frequently. I'd expect a disposable paper bag to cost no more than $2 per bag, so regardless of quality, I think this is way overpriced.
Given the great reviews, I suppose this is a rare problem, but the two bags I received are both defective. It's obvious that when the bags were made, the step of cutting the hole for the inlet was skipped. br>br>I only gave it two stars instead of one because I was able to cut a hole in the bag with scissors, allowing it to be installed and function properly. However, I should not be required to complete the manufacturing process. This was not a cheap item, so it's a bit of a letdown. However, after cutting the hole, I was able to install the bag, and it appears to function properly. br>br>(And no, I'm not some moron who doesn't understand how a vacuum bag works. ) This is unmistakably a manufacturing flaw.
For me, these totes are ideal. Because I use my shop vac to thoroughly clean my home, I change my bag once a month. These bags have yet to disappoint me, but to be fair, I never allow my bags to become completely full, so I'm not sure if they would blow out and hold up; mine are only 3/4 full and I use them every other day. I can attest to the bags' ability to collect pebbles, rice coal, coal ash, cat hair, and dirt. Rice coal can be very sharp, but the bags have never failed me. I intend to purchase again.
I compared them to real Ridgid bags, and they are very similar in appearance, but they are not the same. There is no mention of these being sold by a third party or not being original equipment anywhere in the listing. For a knock-off item, the price is far too high. The bag's material quality is not comparable to that of the original. Is it both safe and effective in terms of dust control?.
If you're sick of drywall dust clogging your filter, get these and you'll never go back. When sucking up fine dust, greatly extends the life of your filter. We use these with and without a filter, especially for dry wall dust.
These totes are fantastic. I was able to repurpose each of them three times. I fill it once, carefully open one end, empty the contents, then fold the end back over and staple it shut with two staples. On the other end, fill and repeat. After reusing the bad, it hasn't blown open. When I need them, I'll buy them again.
I really like this small vacuum, but the dust bags are always so expensive. For interior/delicate work, I use this smaller unit with the bag and a HEPA filter (along with a Ridgid exhaust muffler) to remove dust that I don't want to return to the air, as happens with low-quality vacs with only a filter.
For a paper bag with such a small capacity, it's a bit pricey. Fits my 4 gallon vacuum and works well, particularly with the hepa filter.
