The cutter initially produced a sloppy (0. 010) Joint of the mortise and tendon. When I contacted the seller, they immediately sent me a replacement cutter at no cost to me. The results were the same when the new cutter arrived. The two sets of cutters are exactly the same, according to my micrometer, with a tolerance of 0. It doesn't help me if it's precise but not accurate. The mortise has a value of 0. 260 +/- as opposed to 0 As one might expect, the total number is 250. I was able to shim it to get the tendon tight using internet instructions, but the sticking joint is now loose (see photo). If you don't have any shims, there's no way to tighten the joint. There were no setup instructions included, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. br>br>With regard to the seller, I have no complaints. They were quick to respond to my complaint, and the replacement cutter set arrived quickly as well. On the other hand, I had hoped for a much higher level of quality from Amana.
It seemed to work out pretty well. I had some difficulty getting the joints as tight as I wanted them to be, but that could have been due to the equipment I was using. It's the first time I've attempted it without using professional gear. br>br>I would purchase it again.
