That's not clear to me. My final understanding has been reached. Once I put it into a screw clamp, I had to force it until it would sit on top of I've tested it on the hatch and it works well.
Just before the screw reaches the material, there is a sheath on the cartridge that acts to stabilize it as it leaves the plastic strip. Though the smooth shank of the cartridge is only about an inch from the end, the sheath is not torn by it.

I cannot use my Milwaukee brand drivers because of the longer shanky length. I had to grind about 3/16" off the shank end to make it fit. Makita-specific tools are obviously made to fit the Makita brand. Hence, if you do not plan to grind off the tips, you may want to look somewhere else or anticipate a refund. The photo shows the location. The rest of the tools are all good, except for the Makita on the far right that doesn't function in my driver.
I can't use this tool with my Ryobi (or other) impact driver because the shank is too long. For the lock to stay in place, it has to be ground down. Apart from that, everything seems to be fine. The Makita might be able to handle this.
It has not been reported that anything unusual has happened. The improvements have not been made. This item has a high-quality appearance and feel.
Do not waste your time!.
It was returned as a result of returning.
A poor grade of metal was used in this product. The tips chipped off almost as soon as the product was used.
The price is low, and the quality is good. It would be nice to give one to a friend as a little goodwill gesture, since I don't need this many.
