After receiving and using these, I can say that they are far superior to any bits I've purchased from most big box stores, or any other for that matter. They don't easily lsip out of screw heads, and the retainer bearing has never popped out after being dropped, as most bits do. Klein used to make excellent screwdrive insert bits, but they haven't been as good in recent years. Klein's handles are fantastic, and the shank is rock solid, but the bits detract from the overall dependability. Now that these bits have been installed, I am able to use my 6-footer with ease. I'm not concerned about having only one screwdriver because I know I can get more. I wish I knew where these were made because I am a firm believer in Made in America products, particularly tools. I can't say for sure where these came from because the information wasn't on the package, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were made in China. Yes, not everyone is concerned, but I am, which is why I bring it up. Well, wherever these came from, they are excellent quality insert bits, which I highly recommend.
Fast delivery and well-machined bits. This item includes two 5/16 hex shank bits with ball indents/protrusions, one for each end of a 4 in 1 screwdriver with 5/16 hex shanks. I have an older Enderes brand, and I prefer the 5/16 shanks because they are more durable. The packaging has been updated to match the image provided by the seller. The model number 58750 is the same, but the packaging is MAYHEW BESTWAY, and the image says Made in China, while the revised packaging says Made in Taiwan. Finally, the description of 1/4 and 5/16 shanks on the back of the actual package is incorrect.
When I tried to remove the second screw, it broke. The large flat head's corner had broken off. It was a machine screw on a conduit body that I was trying to unscrew. The screw had become stuck, and when I attempted to unscrew it, the tip broke with minimal force. br>I bought these to replace a previous one that had been broken in a similar fashion for over 5 years. br>I'm hoping I just got a bad one and will try again because I'm in a tight spot and need one again. br>My go-to screwdriver is a 6 or 7 in 1, which has proven to be reliable over the years. But if these tips are this cheap and keep breaking, I'll have to buy a new screwdriver, which will cost about the same as three of these.
The small flat tip broke shortly after Sears went out of business, and I couldn't find a replacement set at any of the stores that now sell Stanley Craftsman. These new bits are a perfect fit, with crisp cross tips and strong flat blades. I anticipate getting a lot of use out of these tools, as I use the 6 in 1 screwdriver every day at work to disassemble and reassemble the machines I service.
Replacement bits were fantastic and worked perfectly for the ace hardware 4- They were missing one screwdriver. These are also a difficult size to come by, so I'll probably order a few extras just in case. If you're looking for a four-wheel drive vehicle, this is the place to go. 1 replacement bits I'd order them here because I couldn't find any sizes in stores, and I looked in a lot of places, and the only thing I could find was the entire 4-pack. 1 screwdriver set is included in this package.
Multipurpose tools are usually frowned upon by me. Most of the time, they don't do a particularly good job- LET ALONE FOUR JOB OPPORTUNITIES! There is one exception to this rule. The ACE Hardware 4-in-1 screwdriver is a fantastic little tool. It comes with one and two phillips bits, as well as large and small common screw bits. Most screwdrivers of this type end here, but the ACE 4 in 1 screwdriver has a nice fat handle that fits perfectly in your palm. The tool has "heft" to it, which is a big plus. that special ingredient that makes you feel like you're holding on to something valuable. One of these screwdrivers was purchased many years ago by me. Then, after seeing how useful it was, I returned and purchased another. One is at the shop, and the other is at home. I have some excellent screwdrivers, but there are times when I don't want to carry four of them! The mystery deepens. br>br> The phillips bits on these screwdrivers eventually nicked up and needed to be replaced after many years of use. I'd noticed that ACE sold replacement parts all along and figured I'd save them for when I actually needed them. This is a bad decision! When I went in to get the replacement bits, I was informed that ACE would no longer be carrying their own hand tools- in favor of learning how to use Craftsman tools. Normally, I would argue that Craftsman hand tools are superior to ACE hand tools, but in this case, I was disappointed that I would no longer be able to obtain replacement bits for my favorite ACE screwdriver. BWT swoops in to save the day: The bit set shown on this page is a perfect match for the ACE 4 in 1 screwdriver's bits. I've been using the new bits for a while now, and they appear to be well-made steel. br>br>Congratulations to BWT! It's like being able to replace the engine in your 1957 Chevy with a brand new one. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Now it's been three years. These pieces are in excellent condition. This screwdriver is something I use on a daily basis!.
One screwdriver is required. These are a little shorter than the originals, which turned out to be a good thing because they would have been too long for a project that was due in a few days. If you're replacing a budget driver, the price is a little high, but if you're replacing a higher-end driver, it's well worth it.
I bought these to replace a sentimental six-in-one tool that I kept in my firefighting turnout gear for the better part of 18 years of my 22-year career as a firefighter. I couldn't bear the thought of replacing everything. They functioned perfectly and were easy to install.
