Just ON- OFF. In the ON position, The clutch engages and slips at a specific, non-reversible position. The setting can be changed. IN THE OFF-SEASON No clutch is present in this position. Your driver tool's output is all there is to it.
Yes.
I would have kept it if it had been more compact. It doesn't ratchet, and it's difficult to figure out what it does. Due to the mysterious clutch mechanism, heavy use by a professional may reveal that this attachment does not break bits or screws as frequently as other drivers. In my tests, I was hoping to convert a powerful 3/8 variable speed drill to a clutch-like drive action, but it didn't seem to work. It's a good idea, but it might not work out. With less force applied to the trigger, I'd like to hear and feel the clutch release. It didn't appear that anything was going on. As others have stated, the magnetic pull of this device will not cause you to lose any weight.
I'm not sure what I'm saying. I bought it but haven't used it yet because I haven't needed that level of control. Plus, I only intend to use it with a battery-powered device. I won't be able to use an electric or pneumatic driver because I'll be using an impact driver instead. I'm hoping that someone else will be able to answer your question more thoroughly.

Longer bits could usually be completed by hand, but short bits were nearly impossible to complete without the use of a tool. It's simple enough to pull the bits out with a pair of small pliers, but if you're changing bits frequently, this will bog down your workflow. I purchased this with the intention of leaving it in my impact driver all of the time, but it became so inconvenient that I stopped using it and returned it.
This program is useless. I was initially impressed by the magnet's strength in holding the bits in the chuck. After re- The metal retention ring broke and popped out, injuring an old shoulder injury from yanking out the thing's included bit (philips bit). That's fine, I reasoned, because this magnet is the strongest in the land! It is NOT the strongest magnet in the land, and quite possibly the polar opposite. DeWalt, it's back to the drawing board! SMFH. Right now, the Milwaukee guys are giggling at us. SMFH.
This clutch is something I use almost every time I use the impact driver. For a few days, I used it extensively to install a new swing set, and it was incredible not to have to worry about overdriving the screws. It was simple to enable/disable the clutch as needed, though I didn't find myself disabling it very often. It had enough clutch power to drive just about everything I needed, but it still greatly reduced the number of times I damaged the boards while driving the nails in. It was all too easy to drive the screws too far into the wood without this clutch.
I had hoped that this clutch would work, but it appears that it will be discarded.
For the first eight months, I was satisfied with this product. It essentially eliminated the possibility of screws breaking. When I needed more power from my impact driver, I used the easy on/off feature to switch the clutch off. The mechanism, however, failed after 8 months of intermittent use of the product. It's now stuck in the "off" position, and no matter how hard I try, I can't get it to turn back on. DeWalt does not appear to have a simple way for me to contact their corporate office for warranty claims, instead directing me to service centers. For $12, this is simply not worth the effort. I'll give another one a shot later, but for now, I'll stick with what I've got. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> It began to work again all of a sudden. My overall score remains the same, however, because it clearly has reliability issues; however, I am grateful that it is working because I enjoy how it performs (when it does).
Due to the lack of a clutch on the Dewalt 20V impact driver, you must either break off a drill hit or overdrive the screw. This is a must-have item for that particular tool. It isn't adjustable, but it will help you save money on drill and driver bits that break.
During the installation of a metal roof, I used this along with an impact driver to attach gasketed screws. The gasket was crushed because the gasket was slipped at the wrong point. You may get different results.
I have no idea what clutch on and clutch off mean.
