When working on ladders or other platforms with holes or slots for setting your drill/impact with the bit holder into, this one does not unlock the mechanism when pulled out. Because of the direction of operation, I've had my nut drivers slip out of other brands when picking up my tool with the bit holder, causing the locking mechanism to catch and unlock against the hole of the ladder. TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL DR It's low-profile, the locking mechanism works in a better direction than other brands, and it's long-lasting! I use these in the same way that I use commercial glass.
I've been a long-time user of Dewalt tools. This drill bit extension is made in a poor manner. I purchased two of them, one from Amazon and the other from Lowe's. A Phillips, however, has become stuck and is unable to be removed. The bit ejection [plastic] came loose in some places. As a result, it's nearly impossible to remove the bit. It isn't designed for use in a professional setting.
When I first got this, I was unsure how powerful it would be when used on an impact drill. It's done a fantastic job of holding various HEX bits in place and ensuring that they stay in the extension. I'd buy another if this one got lost on the job site (which I'm sure it would before I broke it lol).
After a week of hard work.
It is more effective than I anticipated.
My 12" did not last more than a single use. The 6" is, on the other hand, performing admirably. Only the release collar needs to be gotten used to. At times, she can be a b*tch. But it never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, never, ever.
El expulsor de la punta se descompuso por mala calidad y no me duro ni un mes.
