Do not buy a cheap item. Sadly, this product was not good enough to make an impact. It was delivered fast, but that is the only positive aspect of it. I used it for the very first time to loosen a stubborn bolt, but it sheared off in the impact driver after a few seconds. This has disappointed me greatly. You can get a good product for a couple of extra bucks. When you are in the middle of a job and tools break, it is much more frustrating. I'm glad I had backups. Yet I have no idea how this product has been rated as highly as it has? If you trust me, buy a different one.
This is the second time I have used it and my Harbor Freight 1/4" hex held up much better and for half the price. I am disappointed.
The impact drivers I bought were expecting the same ol' tool that wore out quickly with my 5 amp 20V impact drivers. Usually one is stripped of its hair or sheared during the first week of using it. It took me a second to realize how surprised I was by the contents of this It has only been two weeks since I received this set so it isn't enough time for me to say it will last, but 70 hours sounds like a good time span. It is true that I have tried many different brands and still get the same outcome of the heads being stripped out or sheared off. It hasn't even occurred to me to notice slop in the socket connection. So, there will be no doubt in my mind that it is a 5 star experience. Adding more drivers would be the only way to improve a case.
The bits do work, it is a good set, but the 1/2" one broke off while I was working with it. It didn't break during the task of tightening lug nuts onto a car, even though I knew they shouldn't be used for high torque applications due to the size of the bit attached to the drill. The bit had probably been used five times by that point. Hence, you should be weary of using it in any situation where an impact has a lot of force on it.
The first thing I did was to make the Neiko 1/4" to 1/2" drive adapter work in my Ryobi impact driver to remove a lug nut from my wife's car. It took less than a second for the 1/4" drive side near the chuck of the adapter to snap in half when it was attempted to be broken loose. My next step was to remove the safe lug by using a standard length 1/2" drive Craftsman ratchet. didn't take a breaker bar to break the glass. In this case, I did not stand on it. I honestly didn't think it was right enough to justify Listed on the package, the box indicates that it is designed for all electric cars. Whether or not an upper limit for torque was on the package should have been clearly advertised. In an attempt to reach out to customer support (which can be done only through Amazon product support links), I reached out to them via email. This item does not seem to be supported by customer service.
So what's the bottom line? Don't buy this garbage. You should support a company that has integrity in their business, supports their customers, and stands behind their product.
This looks like a great set of adapters at first glance. Those who do not intend to use them frequently and only light when they do, should consider this kit. I shall nevertheless. I would do your research elsewhere if you plan to use them for more than assembling Ikea furniture. During the tightening of a bolt with my Makita impact set set at the lowest setting, my socket fell to the floor before the threads were fully in. The impact attachment (1/32" drive) had fallen off the tool stem as I began to put it back in. In further inspection, these seem to be friction welded together The results were very poor. This wasn't caused by abuse, it just fell apart right away. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for use that can really affect the attachment.
To remove a brand new anode / drain plug from a new RV hot water heater tank with a tiny hand ratchet with 1/4" drive. It had no torque, and it snapped off right at the drive. It was rubbish. Using one of these for the first time was a huge learning experience for me. There is no way they can withstand the rigors of an impact driver, no matter how small.
It does the job well and as advertised. It worked from the very beginning and I am very pleased with it. There is a tendency to abuse tools by using larger ratchets on smaller sockets and such, but the metallurgy on these is of decent quality, and all edges are smoothly chamfered. For the price you are paying, you are getting a better tool. Do not use them for something they are not made for, or use them to their full capacity if you know you are going to push them to the limit. By holding back the appropriate torque, they prevent damage to the vehicle!.
