What is the product's thickness, and why does Amazon only give us the packaging's dimensions, not the product's?

The collar is about 5 inches long. a thickness of 5mm, or a thickness of 218". Amazon uses a computer program to determine who's description is used, and this has been a never-ending battle. That is why, for all Whiteside products on Amazon, I took a photo of the actual item with the label; the computer chooses which of those to use as well. Because there isn't a measurement for the thickness of the collar anywhere, I took one for you. In my opinion, it is overpriced for a design that is possibly a century old

Good product, but it would be better if it came with at least a two-year warranty. My recommendation is to look for a set if you want a better deal. A better design than a single st screw is what I'm looking for. Drill bit stop collars with a high-quality split design, such as those found on more expensive drill bits. For proper orientation for use at router speeds, that may need to be redesigned or prominently labeled. Perhaps a snap collar for the knuckleheads who still put it on backwards, causing the set screw to back out. Perhaps we'll have to wait until router manufacturers include a rotation direction arrow on the base of their motors, which would correspond to a directional arrow on a better lock collar design.
