It'll be a squeeze; I measured mine and it's only 7/8" wide. It's what I use behind a 15/16" or 1" or larger bit. Remember that as it enters a confined space, it will heat up, causing it to bind. It's a pain to untangle something that's become tangled. Best wishes to you.
Yes, it's an excellent fit.
Bosch is a German brand, so I'm not sure.

Bosch tools, in my opinion, are usually a safe bet. This extension is a waste of time. The set screws are smaller than any other extension I've ever used, which seemed inconvenient at first because I didn't have a second allen wrench on hand. One of the set screws came out and got stuck inside the hole I was drilling on the first use, scraping the extension's outside. To keep the remaining set screw from coming out in subsequent uses, I torqued it tighter than I would like. Whatever you do, it will still fall out. Avoid this brand at all costs; it's a waste of money.
I wanted to use it to run wire through, but I'm not going to gouge a huge hole through a stud just to get it through. The majority of Bosch products are overpriced. They only build a few tools that are superior to the competition. I haven't looked at Bosch in a long time. They don't appear to be interested in experimenting with new ideas. They simply make a boring, overpriced line of products.
As an electrician, I was hoping for this extension, and I can tell you that the standard auger bit size used by electricians is 7/8 inch. As a result, if the head of the extension is 7/8, it defeats the purpose of the extension if it barely fits through the hole. As far as I can tell, this is a major flaw in the extension's planning, so while it will go through, it makes me wonder how long it will last. As an aside, I think a 12" auger would sell like hotcakes.
This extension was a perfect fit for my 7/16 hole saw drive.
It was exactly as they said it would be.
As stated previously.
For 7/16 shank drills, a heavy-duty extension is required.
