I'm Geoff. Thanks for dropping by. Generally, you drill until the core bit is nearly at the bottom, then use a hammer to break out the core. You need to repeat it until you have completed it. The normal way of drilling through a rock that deep is to use a core bore drill with a much deeper bit.

As part of mine, there was a As a starting guide, you can also use 1/2" or 3/4" plywood, but make sure to drill the same size hole in the plywood to guide your masonary bit. Make sure to keep the SDS MAX drill steady. The purpose of my answer is to hopefully provide some useful information.
