Questions & Answers

My tub surround is to the ceiling so I would like to get the grout out of the surround. With this blade, you will need to learn how long it will take you. A 3x3 tile measures 3 inches by 3 inches. ?

The information is not sufficient. If the tub surround is created of one large tile, is it made of small tiles, or is it made of a single piece grouted at the tub. There are no limits to how much grout you can remove with this blade, but how much time it will take depends on how much you need *Brutally, this question more closely relates to how long the blade will last before wearout, not how much grout it can remove. In addition to your situation, that answer depends on what you want. Do the grout lines have a sanded surface or are they unfinished? The joint measures eight-tenths of an inch wide, quarter-inch wide, or more? (Though this blade will not work on anything smaller 2) What is the grout's age? The blade will wear out more quickly and the grout will take longer to install with sanded grout than without. Grout that is older is often harder than grout that is newer. It's also worth noting that this blade is rounded, so if you need to get into corners, you will have to use another kind of blade, such as As a general rule, I would say that one blade will work on the line between the tub and the With the price you'll pay, get a second blade and change it as soon as you notice your progress slowing down. The blade may overheat and leave marks on a porcelain tub or cause damage to a Corean tub if used beyond its intended life. I agree with the statement, "don't Whenever you push, you are likely to incur overheating and the blade will wear out faster.

Are there any markings on the blade that indicate its thickness?

The thickness of an eighth of an inch

Do you think this will ?

My guess is that it won't happen. There's a big difference between the grout and the stone. The blade would have to be blown through really quickly if it did

Do you think this will cut through concrete? Would you mind telling me how deep it is?

Grout removal is not the best use for this blade.

Faster than other blades, about two times as fast
5/5

After 54 feet of 1/4" grout was removed from the blade, it was still like new. I used this blade to remove 1/4" wide grout lines across 54 feet of floor tile today without any problems. Dremel multimax, speed set at 6, which I used for the job. I removed about 1/2" of grout between the tiles when I removed the old grout. As I worked, I took about four trips around the tile to get to the mortar bed between the tiles, vacuuming each trip. In less than five minutes, I was able to remove all of the grout from an 18" floor tile. I found that this one piece gold colored carbide blade was twice as fast as the one piece gold colored carbide blades I had previously used. In terms of removing grout, the waffer-like shape of this blade seemed to be more effective than a variety of gold colored carbide blades I had been using, and that was the case. Blades such as this one come in two pieces, as others have described. Since there were complaints that the rivets on this product pulled loose where the two pieces join, I chose to keep a gold colored carbide blade at hand in case the rivets did break loose.

The area I was covering with these was small, so I bought tons of them
5/5

Whether you are removing grout or removing stains, these blades are perfect for the job. There is no question that you need one that has multiple functions Additionally, it is one of the tools. Make sure the speed is on the lowest The product works well for 1/4" or wider grout joints with sanded grout. br>Consider them also for your back splashes, wall to floor joints in showers etc.
The carbide edge will wear out pretty quickly, so make sure to move the blade around so that the entire edge is used. It not only saves time, but also money, as it costs only $3 to get your hand on the QEP grout grabber attachment for a reciprocating saw. There is a price differential of about $1. 00 and the blades can be stacked to fit the grout line.
For a leveler, install the grout grabber tool upside down in the saw so it's at a better height. Please remember you only need to remove 1/8th inch to leave enough space for new grout to stick. In case you're wondering, I do grout repair for a living.

My expectations were not met with this brand
3/5

The goal was to remove grout and mortar from loose tiles, but I ended up being disappointed. The first reason I bought this was because of the name, and it was offered cheapest and quickest through Amazon. I am disappointed in you! It was relatively easy for the blade to wear out. The blade that I am currently using is In about six 17x17 tiles, I removed two out of four which simply came apart! (See picture below). I am extremely dissatisfied with the There's only one positive to this transaction, I will stick to the cheaper blades from Harbor Freight. They seem to keep up better than other brands.

I have found this to be very effective
5/5

To return my kitchen floor to its original state, I had to completely redo the My knees have been hurting like hell for the most part of the day, but digression. My husband and I bought this grout saw as well as the counter part "normal" multi-tool from Dewalt Use this grout saw to cut grout. This is my Dewalt 20V XR cordless multi tool (that fits great). It lasted about 15 square feet, and it came from a dremel brand grout blade I purchased at Home Depot. With this deal, I was able to get both of the Dewalts for about the same price as the Dremel A 400 square foot kitchen was in the house. This was the blade I used for 80% of it. The dremel one burned up, so I switched between this and the normal dewalt. I used this more, however, because the shape of this allowed it to cut a wider swath I had some areas that cut like butter, and others that cut like diamonds, so I suspect that the grout was mixed poorly during installation. I was extremely happy with the way this piece was performed. In my experience, it would eventually come out if I applied more pressure and went slower on the hard parts. Near the end of the job, I had split the blade, like others have mentioned, BUT clearly I had begun to abuse it. As of this point, I had cut at least 250 square feet at this point and had also worked for around 20 hours. As I tried to use it in the groove in the grout to clean the side edges of the tiles, it split because I started to torque it in the groove. Probably I could have covered the whole kitchen with it if I hadn't been as gumptious with As much as I tried to compare it to a straight blade, I couldn't say it cut While the width of the cut sped things up a bit, they were comparable in performance for the most part. Please accept my thanks for your help!.

This is junk
3/5

Your money will not be wasted. My tub surround was grouted with tile, and I was removing the grout from it. It worked well for a short time. As I approached 1/4 of the way of the first wall, the rivets snapped and the blade fell apart. Still need to finish 3/4 of the first wall plus two more walls. Tossing money around is just one of my favorite things to do DeWalt, you are awesome!.

The pieces break apart when they are stamped
3/5

There is nothing good about this product and it broke in the first hour of use. It comes down to this. In fact, it is actually two pieces even though it looks as if it is one, as have all the other attachments I have used in the past. These pieces are machine pressed together and there are metal nobs that go through the wholes and are pressed into place to expand and act like a rivet. After a short period of time, the two parts started to separate, resulting in the entire unit becoming worthless. problem is with the two pieces, as other brands have two pieces as well the problem appears to be in the way the two pieces are connected. I am returning it back through Amazon, which is one nice thing.

Every other blade I've tried has lasted at least 10 times as long as this one
5/5

There is an incredible amount of power in this blade. It cuts through very hard grout with ease. My experience has been with both of these blades expensive ($34) and inexpensive ($4). These materials are made of diamond and carbon. It is a very hard sanded grout on the job I am working on. In the past, the grit bonding material would wear down at the edge to bare metal after ten years You should use this product for at least 30 minutes. I can use this blade for a long time before I need to replace The process results in much faster removal of material and a faster pace of work.

I used this to make sure the mortar was clean It took us a lot of time to figure out how to get the mortar between tiles cleaned out before grouting after we had laid the tile in two rooms
5/5

Every kind of thing I could think of I tried. Afterwards, I picked it up and found that it worked beautifully! It really cleaned out all of the mortar that had oozed into the gaps Using it saved me so much time and it lasted all the way through the.
