The first unit I received was in excellent condition when I received it. We mounted the unit through drywall and into studs in about 30 minutes. However, the screws that came with the unit were quite short, like an 1 1/4", so we had to purchase longer ones. In the following steps, we will introduce the unit and inspect it. Despite the fact that the cord, mount, and body all look heavy, I believe this reel is a quality item. The reel was finally mounted on the ceiling in the shop, and it was used a few times only about 15 feet from the wall. In a couple weeks after that, I pulled the cord off the reel and plugged in the saw, only to find that there was no power going through the reel to the cord. Since I am an industrial electrician, troubleshooting was no problem. I had no chance to hang this reel significantly less use it before the return period through Amazon ended, and it has stopped working completely since then.
I really like how easy the cord retracts with. The spring on this thing is really strong! You can wring this cord out to 50ft and let it go the cord will fully retract in a few seconds, whipping everyone as it does so. I like how easy it is to retract the cord. The auto-retract feature also makes it very easy. Using a spool or anything else to make it easier to arrange the cable in your garage ceiling is easier than trying to route it awkwardly all the way into 50ft of space. The only complaint I have is that it hangs about two inches when it is completely retracted. From the ceiling, it is five feet down. You must have tall ceilings if you wish to use this. As we drive into our garage, the water ends up hitting our cars. It would be great if that part could be adjusted.
I like how the chord goes back in, mounting it on the ceiling would be great. An internal breaker is always tripped because the circuit constantly trips. It tripped a breaker when I had a heater on low. As far as I can tell, I have not found anything that runs on this without tripping It is probably coming down so that I can try something else.
