This item was extremely rusted when it arrived. When they were delivered, all of the fittings were rusted and were leaking air. This reel is a pain to use because it leaks so much that my compressor has to run all the time. I've wanted a reel in my garage for a long time, but this one is of poor quality. br>br>Update 1/10/2020br>The seller read my reviews and took the appropriate steps to rectify the situation. They provided me with a replacement unit at no cost to me. The item was in excellent condition when it arrived. Thank you so much for correcting the situation.
There is no way to contact the manufacturer. This sir hose was extremely difficult to install, despite the fact that one of the selling points was that it was simple to do so. There were no installation instructions included, and the item was only supplied with masonry bolts, limiting its application to concrete. The majority of people who purchase these do so with the intention of mounting them on their garage wall, which is usually made of wood. br>br>There were some reviews that said the item was rusted when they received it, but I didn't read them until after I bought it. Mine arrived partially rusted but in good working order, so I decided to keep it for the time being until something goes wrong. br>br>I tried looking for the manufacturer's contact information but couldn't find any; the only way to get in touch with them is through Amazon. br>br>The hose reel appears to work great after I used my own hardware and figured out how to install it myself. Although the hose reel is advertised as being made of hard steel and being extremely durable, I previously owned a DeWalt hose reel that was far more durable. Even though it's a little more expensive, I'd recommend sticking with DeWalt. br>br>It's not that the hose reel is cheap, but it's also not heavy steel.
My store provided me with a standard air hose. I used to make myself waste a lot of time returning it and organizing it. br>br>This retractable air hose saves my life because everything is so well organized. It's well-made and weighs in at 25 pounds. It does, however, come with a slew of bolts and nuts for mounting to the wall or the floor. After three days of being connected to my air compressor, there were no leaks discovered. br>br>Overall, I believe it is a wise investment.
To begin with, this reel only includes the hardware needed to install it in masonry. If you want to hang something from a wall or ceiling, you'll need to go to a hardware store and buy the appropriate screws. In addition, the reel appears to be quite flimsy. Even though it appeared to be well packaged, mine was bent when I opened it. I would avoid this one in general.
It's not even a year old, so it's a bummer, and I don't use it much for household stuff.
I put it in a stud about 5 feet off the ground in my garage. It's convenient to be able to screw the reel into the wall separately from the mount. It's as simple as that to mount the reel on the mount. I did have to purchase a 10-foot lead-in hose in order to position the compressor where I wanted it and close to an outlet. To mount into the stud, I purchased two 3-inch lag screws. The installation took about 20 minutes in total. The fact that it swivels as you walk down either side of the garage is extremely convenient. It appears to be a high-quality product, and it's a lot more convenient than lugging a compressor to your desired location.
The instructions aren't very clear, and you'll need to supply your own hardware if you're not mounting to a concrete wall. Fortunately, I had stud-mounting hardware on hand, and everything appears to be working properly so far. When not in use, I like that it can be turned to the side.
This hose reel exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, with nice heavy gauge steel and a strong spring. When the hose is mostly out, locking the reel can be a pain, but it only takes a little practice.
