There's a misunderstanding here that necessitates a return to physics class in high school. Over the length of the hose/pipe in which it flows, the flow rate and pressure of a liquid (or, in this case, a flowing gas) are reduced. As a result, given a constant pressure at the inlet, the volume and pressure at the outlet decrease as the distance traveled increases. Giving the air hose a larger internal diameter can help mitigate the disadvantages of using a longer air hose. You can achieve the same result without changing the size of the inlet/outlet ports. br>br>To put it another way, the longer your hose is, the larger its ID must be to maintain the desired outlet pressure. Because this is a 50-foot hose, you don't want anything less than 3/8" ID, and depending on the tool, 1/2" ID may be preferable. You can still use 1/4" NPT fittings, and the flow rate and pressure will be similar to that of a short 1/4" ID hose.
I doubt you'll be satisfied with 100 feet on reel. I added another 25 feet to mine (for a total of 75 feet) and it now appears to be quite full. It's possible that 100 feet of water will spill over the sides.
This is not how I see it being used. The rated pressure of this hose and reel is far exceeded by most pressure washers.

Do you recall how quickly a Dewalt tool wore out? It was like a heroic gesture worthy of a Viking funeral, and it was like raising a glass to a fallen warrior in the pub. This was usually after YEARS of hard work, and you felt as if you had gotten your money's worth. Unfortunately, the tools I consider to be "supporting tools" are nothing more than garbage. I also recommend their portable mitre saw tables, as well as some of their less expensive power tools and clamps. Another bad example is this hose reel. Is it functional? br>br> Is it leaking at the main coupling? Yes, for the most part. br>Is it leaking at the main coupling? Is the metal bracket bendable? (And yes, I teflon taped it and tightened it properly. )br> Yesbr>Does it have the feel of a Harbor Freight product with Dewalt branding on it? Yes.
I tried to use this reel again and again, but it kept getting stuck on the nuts when I turned it. It took me a long time to disassemble it, and it was a pain. Inside the reel was a broken piece of plastic. Its purpose is to keep the shaft from wobbling by centered it. Amazon shipped and sold it, and I believe they sent me a return item rather than a new one.
This item leaked air profusely from the joint where the hose connects permanently to the reel, indicating a lack of quality assurance. If I didn't want the compressor to turn on every 5 minutes, it would have been unusable. It's a real pain. It was fine after I fixed it by tightening the joint once I was able to reach it, but most people would not disassemble a brand new product as I did. I only needed it the next day, so I didn't have time to resolve and return it. I'm hoping it stays that way. It's only been a month since I got it.
This reel is fantastic because it does not tangle. The design is fantastic. Would have given 5 stars if the hose didn't have a bubble and I hadn't used it very much. What is the length of the hose's warranty?.
This DeWalt hose reel was given to me as a Christmas present, and the first one I received was defective. Right out of the box, I discovered it to be defective. The drum wall and bolt heads were not separated from the locking pin attachment plate by a bushing, so it couldn't turn freely. Another reviewer expressed a similar concern, indicating that DeWalt's hose reel assembly supplier has a quality control issue. br>br>Today, I returned the first one and received a replacement - only two days later Only three stars because Amazon's return process was so simple and the replacement was done quickly. The new one appears to be in good working order - When the locking pin is retracted, it at least spins freely. Only three small bolts are required to secure the crank handle. Lag screws can easily be used to attach the detachable mounting plate to a bench or wall. It remains to be seen if this reel performs as expected or if it leaks air. If the first one I got hadn't been a dud, I would have given this hose reel a higher rating.
This hose was purchased because I needed more flow than a 1/4" hose could provide. However, one of the crimped NPT fittings on the hoses has a tiny 1/8" opening, which I discovered when I looked at them. What good is a larger diameter hose if the fittings are all restrictive?.
It's a fantastic product that's also extremely long-lasting. I was able to add another 50 feet of hose. The only problem is that the connection is so loose that it hits the back of the chair. But only if you don't wind it up carefully. If you are, keep the connection in a location where there isn't as much hose wrapped around it. After all, it's not the reel's fault. To solve this, I'm thinking about switching to a more compact, long-term connection. 10/10. I'd purchase it again. br>br>do keep in mind that the extra 50' of hose has a smaller OD.
It can hold 100 feet of hose despite the fact that it was designed to hold only 50 feet. The bar, on the other hand, will bend down, which is undesirable. I secured the bar with a couple of pipe clamps, and it is now secure. Check out the images. br>br>I'm docking a star because I believe Dewalt should have made this a little wider and stronger out of the box in order for it to handle 100 feet. That is so close to being possible with the product. Why don't you try crossing the goal line with the ball?.
