The hole pattern is a rectangular 4" X 4 on the mounting pad, which is approximately 6" square. 5". Two of the four holes are slotted to allow for slight misalignment. br>Because this reel is heavy, you'll want to put some substantial structure behind it. If you're anything like me, you'll grab the hose and pull against the rewind to finish the job. br>Because the mounting plate's holes/slots are 1/2" ID, you'll need enough wood to accommodate 3/8" lags and washers. It would probably be difficult to install on the edge of a stud/joist without it splitting. In a bay between two studs or joists, I'd put some bars or plate in. br>You will not be disappointed with this reel.
Correct!br>And they are full ported flow swivels, as well.
The hose is included in the package. The listed length is 50 feet, according to my calculations.
It's a full port reel with a 1/2" ID.

Made in the United States, this air hose reel is of high quality. It is true that it is pricey, but the quality is self-evident in person. evident: A one- quarter-piece steel mounting plate/reel support arm is an inch thick steel plate; a ninth-grade student ribbed and 1 inch thick steel guide bracket with 45-degree adjustment steps in degrees; O- rings are easily replaceable. rings in the pressure swivel on the hub; a spring canister that can be replaced, as well as a high-capacity battery a good 50- 3/8" air hose with a length of 3 feet. I'm using it in a home shop, and I'm not sure if the extra cost is justified. br>br>To be honest, I'm tired of buying products made in other countries in order to meet a price point determined by some marketing executive to be the best for meeting market demand and ensuring his annual bonus. I'd like to promote manufacturing-related initiatives - as well as employment – in the United States We all say it, but in order to achieve it, we must also put our money where our mouth is (a phrase that, by the way, is almost as old as COXREELS, which has been in business in Arizona since 1923). br>br>Finally, I'd like to make the following observation: If you're installing this hose reel in a ceiling/wall configuration, pay special attention to how it's mounted. It weighs 40 pounds, and people will pull on it as well.
This reel is an adult present for my inner child. This is something I've been wanting for a long time. I've got one now. So what if I depleted the college fund for the kid? They are in their early years. They have a long time to repay their student loans. I've been using a loose hose that I'd roll up in loops and store in my shed for years. That is no longer the case. This is a serious piece of equipment. This is a commercial-grade product. Both directions of the reel are smooth. With a clear click, the locks on the reel are visible. It's also simple to unlock the lock. br>br>I'm a driveway mechanic with a couple of air tools and 14 tires to inflate. This is, without a doubt, a bit much. However, it is extremely well constructed and will almost certainly outlast me. br>br>The unit is delivered fully assembled and ready to use. It is possible to have a one-time installation. work for a single individual For me, it was. However, it would be easier if there were two of us. Before attempting to mount the hose, make sure to unreel as much as possible. There's no need to take the hose off - Unreel it, that's all there is to it. As a result, the weight will be reduced, and installation will be facilitated. AND, once the hose has been unreeled and locked, handle it with caution. If you unlock the reel while holding the reel itself (not just the base), you'll have 50 feet of hose coming back at you. br>br>The location where you mount it must be substantial. Mine is under my carport, and the posts are nominally 2x6, so I had to mount it on the 2" dimension to get the proper reeling action. To make a sturdy mount, I improvised with a piece of 4x4.
This is without a doubt one of the most excellent reels available. Don't waste your time with the garbage that local home improvement stores have on hand. These are low-cost items that won't last long. I purchased this one a little over a year ago, and it is in excellent condition. This is made of high-quality materials and is built to last. It will outlast the structure in which it is installed.
A hose reel is extremely useful in your home or shop. This is a monster of a machine. While the unit is well packaged for retail sale, it is not well packaged for sale on Amazon. The manufacturer packaging should be cushioned by Amazon. My unit arrived damaged, with the swivel leaking more than the old Chinese reel it was supposed to replace. I was able to get my hands on some new o- It now works properly after I replaced the rings. Cox was so kind as to send me some fresh o- it has a ring to it A plastic spring/retainer that goes in the center was also damaged during shipping. I couldn't tell if the damage was affecting performance, so I decided to hang it on the wall and move on with my life; the reel is in excellent condition.
After yet another cheapo Chinese unit failed, I decided to take out my grown-up wallet and buy one of these American-made gems. Not once did I feel let down. This is the type of reel you'd find in a local auto shop that's been there for 40 years and still works.
This air hose reel is of commercial quality. There aren't any low-cost plastic components - It's all built to withstand the test of time. The only issue I have is with the packaging (the swivel Air fitting was damaged). In addition, the rubber hose stopper was worn out. tightened, resulting in a reduction in flow. Because the stop was so tight, the hose developed a permanent bend. Also, the hose is PCV, rather than rubber or EPDM, which is a significant downgrade. The material of the hose was not specified in the listing.
This is a very heavy-duty reel in every way, and you will not be disappointed. It's also made in the United States, which means that a fellow citizen who values living in a democracy keeps their job! It's the best you can get for the money, and it's well worth it!.
This hose reel is almost perfect. All brass parts in contact with the fluid (air or water) will not rust or corrode. A simple O-ring is used for the swivel seal. When the ring wears out, it can be easily replaced. I have three of these reels, the oldest of which is over a decade old. I've swapped out the O- for a new one. I only used the ring once, and it was surprisingly simple to do so without disassembling the reel. The latching mechanism and spring motor are excellent. I've had some low-cost Chinese reels in the past, and they're complete garbage. The Coxreel should last me at least a lifetime, and it's well worth the extra money.
