First and foremost, these are Roloc (White) Bristle Discs that are fine/extra fine. So don't expect them to be aggressive; I used them on an ATV to remove old gasket material from the aluminum head and cylinder. I didn't want the aggressive Roloc disks (Yellow, Green) because I was afraid they'd cut into the machine's surface. Scrape off the majority of the old gasket with your scraper. These are the last steps in the cleaning process. I was able to complete the project using only one disk. I gave them four stars because this is the first time I've used them and I'm not sure how long they'll last.
Whereas I would have gone through 5 or 6 scotch style pads, I'm still on the first disk! br>br>Even though they are very aggressive against gaskets and paint, they are gentle enough to remove all of the paint from a soda pop can without damaging it or wearing it through! In conclusion, if you work on cars and frequently clean a variety of surfaces ranging from gasket surfaces to hard brake lines, get them! You will not be disappointed! br>br>This is a six-star product; I only wish the other grits were less expensive:.
Exceptional sub- For light cleaning, straight into the material works well. I wouldn't use it to remove a gasket because you'll be working on it all day.
To put it another way, these are effective. The best combination of price and delivery - What is there not to like about this? This is where you should go if you require these. I even gave some to a neighbor for his projects, and his jaw dropped when I told him how much I spent! br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I discovered after writing this initial review that I had purchased these for $15. It's no surprise that I feel like I made out like a bandit after paying 32 for 20 of them through Amazon Prime. I'm not sure how often that happens, but I was extremely fortunate to come across them at such an incredible price. Rolocs are Rolocs are Rolocs - They consistently rank among the best grinding, polishing, and sanding products available. Is this something you can use? Without a doubt. Is it true that they are pricey? It appears that they are now.
In combination with a 2" Roloc disc pad holder and an angle air grinder from Harbor Freight tools, they performed admirably. The first photo shows the block surface before the debris was removed, and the second shows the block surface after it had been buff. It worked perfectly; I only wish I hadn't had to buy the whole box! lol ;.
Everything went as planned, and it was a good job.
These were purchased to remove glued on gasket material from an aluminum block and heads, but they are far too abrasive for the task. I've used them to remove paint from fuel tanks and other surfaces, and they work great and last a long time; in fact, I'm still working my way through my first box. These are great if you don't have a critical aluminum mating surface that you'll never see again.
I had previously used this product, and purchasing the box saved me money.
