The thickness is between 1/8 and 3/16 inches, but I am not confident of the exact number. belt I got was about the thickness of a good leather belt. It did not feel cheap in any way. If I had to buy it again, I would.
It's probably suitable for that, but I used one on my small axe, and the first time it touched a piece of wood, it split! There appears to be something wrong with the leather because it is dry and brittle. In my opinion, Hide & Seek was not reliable and I was not happy Despite replacing or refunding the drink, the company never did anything
The first time my mine hit wood, it burst open! That thing looked as though it had already dry rotted.

I hit it on a small piece of kindling and it bulged down the middle the first time. It's only taken me a month to get the hang of this. There is a dry rot in the leather. On the photos, you can see how the fibers are laid out. In addition, I was unable to locate any contact information. I am now going to review it. If I could get a refund or a replacement, it would be great.
First of all, I want to make it known that I bought four outdoor bushcraft products The Hults There is an Aneby axe, an Axe Handle Guard, which is also known as "Overstrike Guard", an Axe Holster, and a I'll be sending you the same copy as I did last year As the quality and craftmanship of each of those items is the same, they are every bit as good. In addition to the axe handle guard and holster, Hide and Drink makes wonderful knife holsters and zippered sleeves out of fine leather! The only thing I had to do to preserve the leather was to use some Lexol leather conditioner when it arrived. I also used it on the leather gloves that came with the package. As well as being a little dry, the axe sheath belonged to the brand Buk. A little known fact about Lexol is that it's a conditioning agent for horse saddles made to Since I have been using Lexol on all my leather pieces for many years now, they have never dried out or cracked. Therefore, I recommend that you buy the leather items you want from Hide and Drink, but also put Lexol conditioner on them so they will last a long time. In addition, Lexol darkens the colour some and takes off a light shade of color from dyed leather (even the brown and black ones), but in my opinion it's a fair trade-off to guarantee you leather that will last for a long time. As I'm a fan of bushcraft and camping, I wanted a nice axe. You can see it A Swedish Hults-style sweater I bought Forged in hand, the British 20 inch Bruk The Aneby Company. For those who are into bushcraft and in the market for a new axe and are reading this, this is definitely worth looking into. The weight and size of this axe are perfect for chopping wood and choking up the blade to carve wood, respectively. The axe is 20 inches long and has a head weighing two pounds, making it the most versatile axe I've ever I was amazed at how sharp and with a great edge it was! With that being said, it was important to me to get a hand guard that would not only prevent debris from flying into the handle, but also offer some comfort when I choke up on the blade to chisel wood or carve. Exactly that is what this hand guard does. I love how solid the leather is and it's got the right thickness and grip because I can hold it with ease. As for the axe holster, it is the same. I found that it fitted perfectly on a traditional belt and not a tool belt. It's the perfect thickness and quality, and it has brass rivets securing the two halves To put my Japanese chisels, Scotch eyed auger, and other woodworking tools in the Wax Canvas Tool Roll Bag, I use a heavy duty canvas bag. Tools for the job - A Swedish poet Morakniv Knife set to use with wooden carvings as well as hook blade. The cotton canvas tool bag is also excellent. A lot of the details look as if they were put together back in the 1800's when quality and craftsmanship were highly prized. Besides the gorgeous products, another cool feature about this Guatemalan company Hide and Drink is that every item I purchased came with a handmade craftsman's card personalizing every item with the maker's first name. You can trust that a person who names their work on each individual piece has not only been accountable, but also takes the time to do it well.
Axes are my primary means of chopping wood, so I bought this for a Mann double bit axe. The installation was a bit tricky, and the leather cord snapped (I nicked my knuckles with the axe blade). It kept slipping out of position no matter how tight I made it. Once I had it on and tightened, I tried doing light work with it, but it kept coming loose no matter how snug I made The splinters that were shed while splitting red elm quarter-turned into a solid piece of wood Tore almost immediately when I used it as kindling There is no way to tighten it now.
It would be handy to have a Tarnaby hatchet from Hults Bruk. I appreciate your kind words Hide & Seek Take a drink.
There seem to be no issues with it and it appears to be of pretty good Skidmore's will have to be used to condition it since it is dry. I snapped an end of the lace when I tried to tighten it when I put it on the handle. My Husquvarna 32" splitting maul does not fit well against this and it provides some protection, but it does not fit as well as I would have liked.
A great price for a great product An axe for a 21" campfire - it weighs 5. 5 lbs. The design does not fit, I think a hatchet would be better. Fortunately, I was able to retake the test For the purpose of making one out of leather for the axe I was planning to make The leather is trimmed and leather work is done - with yet another spice of leather. There you go! In general, I give this a "C". As soon as the bag is opened, craftsmanship is evident Take note that it is a bit small for an Axe. Use it for a hatchet instead.
Despite the fact that this is not the correct axe, it is the one I chose.
I will do some research to see if I can find more to fit the Large axe and maybe one for the Double Bit axe I have to make. In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend.
For protection of my Timber Cruiser axe, I purchased this. The tool is used by me to mark trees and remove branches on my property as I walk. /nThe guard is well designed for the axe and will support the weight. /nIt should perform well. It is constructed with first-rate craftsmanship and installed quickly and easily. In a little while, after using my axe and adjusting stars, I'll update this post.
