My recommendation to avoid paying full price is based on my own and a few others' experiences. My storage unit arrived with three or four dents that needed to be pounded out with a mallet, and the door to the bottom storage section was swinging on one bolt, which took some time to fix. Pounding out the dents took some time, but fixing the swinging door was the real issue. The other bolt that was supposed to hold the door (that swung up and back into the unit) was bent, and just getting to it took some effort. The storage unit had been given to the birthday boy as a present, so he took on the responsibility. During this time, he inquired as to whether I had purchased the item from the Amazon Warehouse - I replied that I had. i. e. at a reduced price due to the damage Ouch. He did, however, make an important point. The likelihood is that the majority of these units will arrive damaged and in need of repair. Paying full price for damaged goods appears to be a waste of money. What's worse, I told the company about it: There was no response from the company. Why do business with a company that is unconcerned about the quality of its goods? Look for something else to do the job.
The item was damaged when it arrived. The box was fine and well packed, but some of the metal corners buckled, so I can only assume it was dropped at some point. br>br>The toolbox is still functional, but it has been damaged. I agreed to keep it, and Greatstar compensated me fairly for my losses. br>br>Drawers are functional, with rubber mats in each drawer and large, sturdy wheels. br>br>I found this to be comparable to tool storage boxes I saw at Lowe's for the same price, but it was less $$.
This toolbox's packaging is the most insidious design I've ever seen, and I'm 49 years old. I'm not joking when I say this. br>br>For shipping purposes, the upper toolbox is placed inside the lower toolbox. That's fine, but to remove it, you'll need to take out the lower toolbox's side panel as well as all of the screws that hold the upper toolbox in place. Ours arrived with one large screw that needed to be extracted, necessitating the purchase of a screw extractor kit. br>br>As I tried to unbox it and discovered one unnecessary packing method after another, I kept telling myself that they had to have won a Darwin award for this design. br>br>It's completely pointless. Unpacking takes a lot of time. A review of the toolbox's overall sturdiness will have to wait. I'm on my third day of trying to get rid of the useless, stripped screw.
The item was damaged when I received it. I asked for and received a return label. However, it is requesting that I pay for the return shipping, which I do not understand.
Unfortunately, due to the damaged state in which the unit was received, we were unable to use this toolbox. It's unclear whether the problem was due to a lack of proper packaging or shipping damage. After inspecting the upper toolbox to see if it was in good working order. We discovered that only three of the four screws that were supposed to hold it in place were actually holding it in place. The one screw had gone missing from the factory (and there was no evidence that it had ever been used). Unfortunately, that box was also damaged on the left side, so we're asking for a refund.
The damaged box was reported to the company. Without difficulty, the company replaced the box. This is an excellent company with which to do business. I also like the box's color.
br>I repaired the drawer with glue and claps; I don't mind the dents because it's only in my garage, but I would have preferred to be the first to trash my new tool box! br>I'm not happy with what I've seen so far!.
What's wrong with this money trap is the most basic things. The most basic feature, the lock on the lid, isn't even attached, ensuring that no one can snoop and steal your tools. DO YOU THINK I'M KIDDING? It was also scratched and dented in a couple of places. Don't even get me started on the wheels, hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Don't waste your money on this nonsense. Purchase a Craftsman, as I am currently doing.
