Rubbermaid Commercial Trademaster 4 Drawer Mobile Work Center, 43" L x 19" W x 29" H, Black/Red (FG451388BLA)

My home office is full of tiny electronic parts and cables that seem to cover every available square inch of table top surface area, as a computer programmer and hobbyist laptop repair technician. Some items can be stored in cardboard boxes or plastic containers, but these immovable storage options require you to walk all over your workshop. Ordering the Rubbermaid Commercial FG451388BLA Trademaster Service Card with Four Drawers was an attempt to make more space in my workshop for my various tools and equipment, but once it arrived, I realized this product offered so much more! br>br>As soon as the large cardboard box for this Rubbermaid cart arrived, I knew it wasn't going to be like any other plastic storage box. I sat on the service cart table top and read the instructions after removing the box, which was heavy for its broad size, indicating that this was going to be a very strong product. With over 180 pounds of weight on it, the cart hardly moved! The cart's assembly required the use of a power drill to secure the various screws for the wheels, but the service cart was ready to use after only 10 minutes of work. The integrated power strip outlets, which allow you to plug in three 120VAC devices, are by far my favorite feature of this utility cart. I quickly realized that this would be ideal for charging my hobby laptops, so I piled three of them on the cart's table top! br>br>After an hour of going through my electronics boxes and containers, all of the drawers on this well-designed cart were stuffed with laptop power adapters and repair supplies. DVDs, CDs, USB drive readers, thumb drives, hard drives, memory sticks, spare laptop batteries, Ethernet cables, security cameras, and a variety of other useful items to have on a single cart were all stored in the easy-to-access drawers. After that, I rolled the cart into my garage and started working on the truck. To say that this is an ideal product for the handyman would be an understatement! I used the laptops in my driveway to look up instructions while they were on the Rubbermaid cart; to say that this is an ideal product for the handyman would be an understatement! Overall, I am very impressed with the Rubbermaid Trademaster Service Cart and would recommend it to anyone who requires a true mobile workspace assistant!.

Drilling is a good option. I deducted one star because it took me so long to simply screw in the four rolling casters on this Trademaster. Given the ease with which it can be put together (you only need to screw on three parts: Rubbermaid should have paid more attention to getting the screw holes bored to a wider width for the provided phillips head screws (the four casters, the handle, and the power strip). br>br>The four screws that hold each of the four casters to the cart body appeared to be slightly too large for the holes, and I nearly stripped the screws trying to get the rollers on. I should have started with a power drill, but I prefer to do "easy" assemblies by hand, so I messed up. The handle, on the other hand, was a breeze to install, and the holes appeared to be the right size for the four smaller screws that came with it. The power strip, on the other hand, proved to be just as difficult to install as the casters. I understand that you want firmly placed screws to secure the wheels to the body, but in that case, hex caps or metal inserts, or both, would have been more durable (and easier) to install. br>br>I'm deducting another star because, while the rest of the cart appears to be reasonably sturdy, the locking mechanism for the drawers is extremely weak, and is probably only useful for keeping very young children out. The lock is only on one side, and a strong tug will almost certainly break it. The lock is comparable to, if not weaker than, a metal cabinet drawer on a work desk. Furthermore, you must firmly press each drawer into place before turning the key, as one of the drawers will inevitably fail to catch and open anyway. br>br>Given the assembly and lock-in costs, this is an extremely expensive item. The drawer pull action, which isn't particularly smooth, also doesn't feel very commercial grade. btw- btw- btw- btw- btw- btw- bt The red-handled scissors were not included in the kit; they were purchased separately.
