The hardware, leather, nylon, padding, and other materials are all of good quality and appear to be long-lasting. Apart from securing the straps once broken in / adjusted as instructed, the only change I made was to use chicago screws instead of the conway buckle provided to fasten the adjustment. The only complaint I have is that depending on how you adjust it, there is a lot of end strap sticking out with nowhere to go. A chicago screw was used to secure the end.
). ) Keep in mind that the ends of the front strap can only be lengthened by an inch or two more. To find my comfort zone, I played around with loosening and tightening the belt. br>br>The suspenders evenly distribute my weight between my shoulders and hips, relieving pressure on my bad back. br>When I raised my arms overhead, I felt no extra pressure or discomfort from the straps or the cushion on my shoulders. br>br>These suspenders are made in the United States and are a high-quality product made by people who appear to take pride in their work and their business. br>br>Although I'm not in the trades, I can see why Occidental is so popular among hardworking professionals who rely on reliable equipment to make a living.
After 2. After 5 years of almost daily use, one of the metal clips has broken, and the others are on their way. I called occidental today, and they said they'd send me four new back strap clips with rivets for free. They're even covering the cost of postage. br>I'll include images of the clips as well.
Suspenders aren't my thing. I'm an electrician who spends a lot of time working above my head, and it was exhausting because if they weren't tight enough to support my tools when I wasn't working overhead, I'd have to lift all of my tools to do so. After one day of use, I returned them; the build quality was exactly what you'd expect from Western, but it wasn't for me.
Great product, but I found it to be too short; I'm 6'2" and wear talls, and when fully extended, the belt rode at my belly button. Both the front and back should be at least 6 inches longer. Anyone 5'10" and under would look great in this. Another point to consider is that the hooks are facing out when they should be facing in, ensuring that nothing is accidentally clipped in.
So it's one size fits most only if you're 5'3 got them in the mail today along with my original tan seven bag framer really wanted the seven bag in black but that's a whole other story in itself back to the system I'm average height 6'0 225lbs put these on my new bags slung it over my shoulders and boom tool belt literally above my belly button with 2 belt holes of longer adjustment available so I say to my wife wouldn't it be nice if they just 00 for the initial suspension system, THE BEST THERE IS, I expected it to at least be fully adjustable to fit most men, not just the short guys, and now you want me to buy your 10 inch extensions because your system does not fit most. br> No thank you, returned with a smile and a tear at 120 and Western being the best, you disappointed me by not including the extensions or simply making them 10 inches longer to begin with, what a hassle so stupid.
It left marks on my hips and made me uncomfortable seven days a week (which is to be expected given that I carry a ton of tools in these bags every day; I'm not just a finish carpenter; I do a little bit of everything from framing to finish work). ADJUSTING THESE SUSPENDERS WAS AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND LONG PROCESS (I'm not sure if it was because I'm stupid or if they're just that difficult to adjust). After properly adjusting them, they helped me lose a lot of weight from my hips and waist. They're fantastic, and I highly recommend the suspenders, as well as any occidental leather product, because they're incredibly comfortable and evenly distribute the weight of the belt across my shoulders and waist.
