I've separated ball joints on a couple of different vehicles using this set three or four times. A 4 lb. weight is what I use. I was expecting to see some chipping where the hammer hits the tool, but I haven't seen any yet. Every time I've used the set, I believe I've used the same size separator. I'm not sure how long they'd last if used on a daily basis, but they appear to be sufficient for occasional use.
It's great value for money, it works well, and it's well-made.
These are all good products, but none of them will fit a Mazda 6. The forks are an excessively long distance apart. They worked flawlessly on a Ford F150.
I've owned a few fork kits and this is by far the best.
Excellent product at a reasonable price.
I usually use an air hammer with interchangeable tools, but because I don't have access to a garage or air tools, I had to resort to the old manual set. They did a fantastic job.
