A quality tool makes all the difference
5/5

However, Amazon did not allow me to warn, issue a caveat emptor and I was taken here instead of my review of the Pittsburgh locking grip oil filter wrench. As far as I know, both Pittsburg and Amazon are going A Pittsburg chain clamp has a set screw of approximately 1/4", while an Irwin chain clamp has three quarters of an inch, so you'd prefer the Irwin or the Irwin 9" chain clamp, 27ZR Having bought hand tools for over 50 years, I understand the value of quality, and it seem the older ones were made better despite their age. There are many reasons to invest in an Irwin, it's a very good tool. It took me more than two reviews to conclude that the Pittsburg was of low quality.

This is what Vise Grips really look like
5/5

Do not fall victim to imitations. There's no denying that Vise Grips are a necessary tool for both professionals and householders alike. Despite the fact that I am new to this configuration, I have seen them used many times and have marvelled at how useful Anything from plate steel to round pipe stock to channel steel can be accommodated by the jaw shape. Throughout my time as a handler, I have never had a pair of Vise Grips fail due to manufacturing or component issues. When the 200 lb fails, it is usually the fault of the machine. It is a gorilla using the tool to abuse the dickens out of it. The new Vise Grips should perform the same way, be durable, and last as long as my old ones. Doesn't matter how they perform. If ever you have a problem with one of their tools, IRWIN Customer Service is first class. Once I called them on a bench vise that did not work. It took them very little time to make me a new one.

The locking pliers were perfect for what I needed
4/5

I needed a set of pliers that could be used to hold hot steel, and so I wanted a pair that was as large as possible to keep my hand as far away from the heating source as possible. This has been a great set of pliers that have washed up well despite the amount of abuse they have taken. Only complaint is that the lever tends to get stuck when I unlock them and I need to nudge with my finger to get it to return to.

This is an excellent tool, and I highly recommend it
5/5

It was a great purchase for me. The seller on Amazon suggested that I buy this Vise Grips set alongside some Irwin C Clamps which I was already buying (for welding). The household items that were stuck around the house have been removed three times a week with these. There was a screw on my Milwaukee Grinder M18 2783 that was stuck and I could not move it. This Vise-Grip mechanism was able to pop off the hand tightened screw in about three seconds. It was a pleasure to speak with you, My goodness, they have been very helpful, and I am sure I use them regularly for a variety of This is a great Irwin tool and you should have it in your toolshed.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the product
5/5

That's fine. While I own a lot of vice grip pliers like these, I've got to say that these are a steal for the money. The feel of them is really high quality and heavy I bought these vice grip pliers for a lot less than other vice grip pliers and they seem to be much better built. In addition, the reach of these devices is amazing. When it came to one of my applications, I had to press in some bearings that were the wrong size and were about halfway The bearings were placed but couldn't be pressed in because of lack of reach. It's possible for them to apply quite a bit of force All in all, I am very pleased with these, and I am pleasantly surprised.

This tool is a great addition to your arsenal
5/5

Investing in tools is not my favorite thing to do. My guilt never goes away when I spend money on an item I rarely use. A difficult task is made easier when that tool comes into play at a later date and makes an otherwise difficult task simple. It is one of the tools of that kind. They work perfectly for clamping pipes and fittings super securely without crushing them and have a wide gaping maw. An item like this gigantic set of grips is one of those tools you never knew you needed until you got it. Additionally, it is constructed with a high level of quality. Before you hold these grips, you may think the knock-offs are fine, but then you will definitely notice the difference.

This is a durable and comfortable product
5/5

The large arc of the head allows us to use them for arcing sprinkler heads in my large sprinkler system and sometimes on PVC pipe in the house. I bought these because I use them around the house for both of Since they are adjustable enough to hold pipe and heads without leaving teeth marks, they have worked well for these applications. There was always an issue I had with channel locks and things like that. Although I cannot comment on using this product for heavy duty work with metal pipes and any other heavy-duty work, I consider it a very good value for what I use it for. I have found them very helpful. They have saved me tons of time and aggravation on this.

Irwin is the new one This is a great product, however
5/5

When I say "New Irwin," I'm referring to their new made in China products. Although Irwin is not as good as it used to be, this is just fine. This is an average quality product. Yet I saw these odd jaw vice grips used in a welding video and did not think they could be as flexible and versatile as they seemed. As I have a tendency to buy new tools that offer even a remote bit of extra value, I only bought one. Well, I just ordered a second one. Unlike fatty vise grips, they can fit where fatty grips can't, have a wide mouth to fit around stuff, and grip firmly. A vise grip well suited to the situation. Having too many clamps and grips is probably not a good idea, so you might as well try something new. This is a great deal you cannot pass up.
