A lot of features, but it's a bit It was time for me to replace my 15+ year-old computer It is a multitool that has a replaceable saw/file, replaceable wire cutters, and exchangeable driver bits
3/5

My old Leatherman Wave did not have these features. There is a mysterious difficulty in finding a tool that combines all three. - Consumables such as wire cutters are available in this form. As for getting bent out of shape, I believe it is absurd to say that people will just have to put up with dull wire cutters until they buy a new tool. The *br- There is no doubt that interchangeable driver bits are a good idea and should be offered on the entire product line. For example, you could make the surge bit-activated or not. The *br- Consumables such as saw blades and files also fall into this category. As far as maintenance is concerned, none exists There are no free saw blades, file, or sharpening surface. What are the chances of finding a multitool that has all three of these features across all brands? As far as I know, there is only There was a surge of activity. In my opinion, the saw blades, the files, and the driver bits seem okay, but the wire cutters make me feel uncomfortable. Gerber wire cutters are better, at least in terms of form and function, because they have three cutting edges per blade. It is necessary to loosen the blade and rotate it 60 degrees before tightening it - when one edge begins to dull Per purchase, there are three edges. Despite its bulk, I, however, think this multitool is rather bulky, as I stated in my title. If I'm in my garage, I'll open the toolbox for a screwdriver, a saw, pliers, etc. I don't need anything complicated for everywhere else. I want a convenient tool that can do the job sufficiently, no matter what. In this Surge, the volume is more than sufficient, and it therefore is bulkier than it needs to be. I really hope that the tool will loosen up, too, since there is a lot of friction between surfaces at the moment. At the present time, I have to open the pliers after every squeeze, and every time I stow away the tool I have to go through that The year is (To give you some context, she has to put them over her knee in order to close them). There are also other factors at play besides friction. As a result of their rubbing against the handle surfaces, there is an arc being etched into the face of the pliers. It's possible to hear rubbing for nearly every movement of every tool, and that's even after a second oiling beyond the manufacturer's recommendation. I should make a few notes about the scissors, the pouch, and the finish since I am here. Almost always, the spring for the scissors in my old Wave wasn't compressed while stored, which resulted in the spring becoming disengaged. In contrast, in the Surge, it's the opposite the spring is maximally compressed almost all the time, and I predict it is going to cause issues in ten years as far as how "springy" the scissors will be. It has been a problem with other tools as well. As for the pouch, I don't have much hope for it with that cheap elastic on the side (supposedly an Even with the pouch from my old Wave, the only problem it possessed was the Velcro broke, but I've watched the new ones fall apart after just In regards to the black and steel finish, I am not sure what I was anticipating, but the black oxide didn't meet my expectations. I don't like the feel, and I am not sure if there would have been this much friction if it were So all said and done, if I can find a multitool with all the features I listed, one that is smaller and has less interference with surfaces, then I will In spite of this, it is rather rare to find multitools that combine all the best features. It simply does not make sense to me why these companies put replaceable saw blades on one tool, replaceable wire cutters on another tool, and unique bits on yet another tool. Keep the driver features separate, and do not put them all in the same tool. Then why can't everything, for that matter, be replaced? A mix of A future that focuses on mixing and matching tools is upon us. 3 * * * ** I am going to pursue either a replacement or a full refund for this gigantic item. There is an explanation for the large and heavy size of this tool, which might be because cheaper materials were used, so the thickness of the tool had to be increased. I had a great last Wave, both light in size and heavy in Additionally, I don't feel like I need to wait for this tool to loosen up ten years. In every motion, there is a lot of friction between the surfaces, and you can see how they rub against one another. This tool is terrible, and I would like a refund.

There is no better multitool than this
5/5

Having grown up with Gerber multitools, I am a huge fan. I have been doing it for at least 20 years. My unfair search for information about Leatherman while considering replacing my Gerber Legend MP800, often felt as if it was a battle for my daughter's hand, led me to critically examine every aspect of Leatherman as if it were her future spouse. Despite my lack of children, I have my own business! I ended up choosing the SURGE after watching about 30 YouTube videos, reading 15 online reviews, and consulting a spirit guide (well, not really). I'm blown away by this SURGGE! This multitool is perfect for carrying a toolbox in your pocket or to use as a multitool when you want a pocket tool. Unlike your average Walmart multitool, this one is made by a professional company. There's no other way to describe this SURGE. As for the "special" bits for the driver, I thought that was just Leatherman has some way of securing your loyalty to them by making you buy only its replacements. As you can see, the bits are slimmer so the tool doesn't gain bulk or size. If Leatherman ever decides to sell specific parts for the tool, I won't mind having to purchase them to use it. In order to keep this tool as big and heavy as it is, it cannot be strapped to a sheath for too Look at the sheaths for RAE GEAR. A metal only and a simple design. You will forget you have this on your hip because the sheath fits so perfectly on your belt and the tool snaps into place so perfectly. Weird or wobbly movements are eliminated. In any event, this SURGE has been a great success for me. Those looking for a serious EDC tool should consider this multitool. The tool has so many YouTube videos that provide an opportunity to see it in action. I deliberately didn't go through the details of all the features.

Spending this much money is one of my best decisions of the This is a great tool, I work as a service tech, so I needed an EDC machine that is reliable and capable
5/5

Because of my size and weight, I paused on the surge, but frankly, unless you're five feet tall and weigh 105 pounds with small hands, you won't be bothered by it. It's almost hard to notice my LM pocket clip in my pocket now since I bought it. If I ever had to buy this product again, I would certainly do so, but fortunately I have a leatherman so I won't have to anytime.

Get the white version instead of the black one
4/5

usually do not write reviews, but I thought I would on this product. Let me begin by saying that the surge is a high quality product. It fits my needs perfectly, is well made, feels great, and performs well. said, I would not recommend dark black or a mix of dark black. There is no problem getting rid of the black rubbs. Your clothes and everything else that it touches end up covered in it. You are left with a tool that looks very worn when it is practically new when it has just rubbed off. One star on the blacked version of the tool, five stars on the tool.

You can't go wrong with it
5/5

In addition to owning nearly every Leatherman that the company has ever produced, I recently allowed a friend to use my Super Leatherman 300. She had misplaced it and it was lost. My original plan was to replace it with a similar model, however the Surge caught my eye for no other reason than the color (I know, not really a deciding factor when you're buying a tool). Once it arrived, the first thing that struck me was the weight. how I can always replace parts myself at will without sending it back and waiting months to receive it and not having a tool in the meantime. I love that the file and saw can be interchanged, not to mention the screwdriver bits that can be interchanged.

You won't regret buying this Leatherman if you don't mind big, heavy, and sturdy products
5/5

My family and I have been using Leatherman products for several decades. My fourth purchase of this Leatherman was the product of much research before I made my final decision. The reviewers who talked about it said that it was very heavy, bulky, and large and, indeed, it is. That personally appeals to me because it gives me the impression that I am using an actual tool instead of breaking My astonishment at the quality of the machining and the fit and finish on this tool is beyond words. This folds into a triangular shape A pair of Leatherman needle nose pliers is better than any tweezers I have ever used for gripping small items! I found that to be a bit absurd, but the knives are amazing, and dealer tools are great. Get the thing, since I'm very impressed.
