Rusty after just one use. Currently working in an ER, I used these one time in a code to cut off a patient's clothes. It was only after one use that I noticed rust spots. I cleaned and dried properly. I am extremely disappointed, without a doubt. Leatherman's response to my email was that they should be cleaned and kept dry as it happens. Although I stated in my email that I only used them once, I did note that in the email. There wasn't a good customer service experience, I wouldn't buy from them The expectations I had for these were so high. It is a very sturdy object, and very Would they make a product that has such a great performance but is also prone to corrosion?.
Having the sheath on should give access to the shears whenever needed. I am having to put my new purchase away now because the sheath is broken, which isn't why I purchased it in the first place. If they do not come with a leather or durable cloth/plastic case, don't buy it. I work in the Emergency Room and these sheers are ideal. It is definitely a product that I would recommend to anyone working in an ambulance or an emergency room. There is an engraving on the sheers that makes it easy for everyone to recognize the owner's sheers.
