My suspicions are that the product is sourced from China. Several years ago, I was given one for a gift. Other than that, I found it to be indispensable. Having scissors on hand was a great idea. To cut boxes and tie wraps, I used these scissors. There were many uses for them and they lasted a long time. The last time I had it, I lost it. As I replaced it, I was dismayed to find out that the new scissors struggle to cut through plastic tie wraps and the edges are already greatly damaged. It's hard to imagine how it could have been damaged in that way In the same way as the older set, I have used it only for light duty work. There is an obvious difference in the metal's hardness and suppleness. This tool is still useful, but it's somewhat disappointing since the original was such a superior tool. When compared to the exceptional "made in the USA" products I have really come to appreciate, this product seems more like something you can buy at Home Depot/Harbor Freight. The tool is indispensable to me in a professional work environment several times a week. This small tool does not have any pliers, so it has two pairs of center scissors that are actually very sharp and are perfect for small trimming or cutting tasks. My only disappointment is that the new Leatherman I am receiving is the overseas "Tool" version, which is not quite up to the same quality as the Leatherman USA model I had to relinquish. There are some faults with the scissors, particularly the sloppy rivet that holds them together. As the owner of a small collection of working miniatures, I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into them. You would expect tools of this sort to function largely as expected. One of the most significant flaws in this product is the looseness of the scissors hinge. Due to the sloppiness of the hinge, it caused the handles to wobble at the ends when deployed. Due to this, the scissors could no longer be used on the left-hand side It was also left-handed, so it was impossible for me to drive a Micra.
