far.
1- 2- I created a round disk to hold my ceramic grillbr> For my fireplace, I built a hearth. br>I called the company to find out the best product to keep concrete from sticking (spray Pam, by the way), and I was really impressed with the owner's enthusiasm for my project. br>I'm going to use it for an outdoor grilling countertop next. br>Update 11/9: For the cap stone of my new fire pit, I made a concrete 'donut' about 36" across! Love it!.
I haven't had a chance to try it out yet because I'm still working on my mold. I'm going to use two of these to make a fireplace hearth. It appears that they are well-made. They're both carbon copies of each other (the pattern starts and ends in the same spot in both). By "pattern," I don't mean that there is a recognizable repeating pattern; rather, they have the same peaks and valleys if they are placed next to each other. I'm not sure how they'll line up when running in a straight line. There will almost certainly be a seam where they meet. It doesn't matter that they're two different colors; I just assumed they used whatever silicone they could find. I'll update you once I've tried them out.
Longer options would be nice, and a vacuumed pour on the mold would be nice because there are a lot of small air pockets that don't look natural. It was simple to rub out the mold before the concrete had fully cured if you unmolded within the first 24 hours. br>br>A dab of crazy glue on one side and a spritz of accelerator on the other is an easy way to keep the mold in place. It sets almost instantly and holds well. If you use screws, make sure to overscrew it so that the bulge looks natural. This is much easier than trying to fill the hole later. br>br>The photo shows the concrete in its raw state, before it is sanded and sealed.
I've used this mold to pour a few table tops and it does exactly what it says.
It arrived quickly after I placed my order, and I was pleasantly surprised by its quality, which enhanced the appearance of my edge. From a man who isn't easily impressed, I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for being a trustworthy individual.
