It's not for cutting wood, but for planing it.
No, this isn't the kind of hand plane you'd use to secure a hinge. Setting a small hinge would be easier with a small chisel.
Sure, but you can save money by wrapping coarse sandpaper around a wood block and removing a small amount of stuck wood. This is a miniature hand plane designed for hobbyists with limited applications.
Mine arrived with the bevel down, and it functions perfectly.

These are razor sharp and will cut through wood like butter if used with the grain. You don't work with wood very often if you expect it to perform equally well against the grain. Happy!.
This was exactly what I needed to shave a few inches off the bottom of a door. Unfortunately, it's extremely dull, and even after two sharpenings, it dulled in minutes. Expect a lot of pain and bruising in your palm as well. This is shoddy workmanship that is unfit for human consumption. I had to use a hammer and chisel to get the job done. Have you ever used a hammer and chisel to chisel the edges of a door? It's not enjoyable, and it requires a significant amount of effort. This is an item that you should avoid at all costs.
The machining isn't up to par, and the cross bar that holds the blade in place isn't perfectly square to the tool's body. So it's not perfect in terms of appearance, but neither am I. I'm working on some scale ship models, and this plane meets all of my requirements in every way. I've tried small planes with a razor blade as a cutter, but the razor simply doesn't perform as well as the thicker steel blade in this plane.
Without a screwdriver, it was simple to adjust the screw by hand. For a small fee, he did an excellent job.
I used a small planer for trimming after I prepared it. It's small enough to be carried around in your pocket. The blade's thickness is extremely thin, making it extremely fragile, and the blade's adjustment is simple--one screw holds the blade in place, which is also why the blade's adjustment isn't precise.
You'll be surprised at how much it can do for its size. I ordered because I needed to complete a project, and I was blown away by the power of this small item! Made of high-quality materials and with a razor-sharp blade, this knife is built to last a lifetime. It allowed me to finish my project on time and meet my deadline. I would recommend this product to anyone who requires it, and I will purchase it again if the need arises. Would make a wonderful gift for a woodworker in your life.
I'm not a skilled woodworker, but I needed a simple planer to break some edges for a shelf I was constructing. br>br>It's a little finicky to get the blade to the right height because the adjuster is just a screw that holds it in place, making minor adjustments difficult. br>br>In addition, the blade could not cut end grain smoothly when I first got it out of the box. I flipped the blade over so the bevel was on the opposite side, and it started cutting nicely.
It's small enough to fit in the palm of a woman's hand. So far, I haven't figured out how to adjust the blade. I only scraped the paint off of a board that needs to be repaired.
