When it arrived, it was broken. The iron, too, was in bad shape. I'm just going to build a new body for myself and keep it, but the quality is terrible.
So, based on the other reviews, I knew it wouldn't be of the highest quality, and I was ready for it. I cleaned up the mess, sharpened the blade, reassembled the weapon, and put it through its paces. br>br>On some pine, the blade deformed, and that was the end of it. The bedding angle, as well as the soft pine, are both problematic. In my opinion, it is far too aggressive.
Two blades that are both small and crooked. It is impossible to adjust the blade so that it does not slant in the groove. I tried to use it on curved back slats for a cherry wood dining chair, but it tore it up no matter how I adjusted the blade. For the hands, it is too small. When working with curved items, it is impossible to maintain a proper grip. Make sure you don't throw your money away.
Sharpen the blade if it doesn't come with one. The steel isn't the best, but it keeps an edge long enough to do what I needed it to do: carve mouldings into old, crooked walls and ceilings. Plane with a niche.
Drilling the pin hole straight appears to be a simple task, but even that is incorrect (see photo).
This plane is great for curves and is simple to set up.
