You will not receive a molded carry case with this set. Wrapping news paper around each hammer and placing it in a box filled with more news paper encloses each hammer.

What do you consider to be dead blows?

I believe they are machined solid steel heads. If you are looking for a decent set of dead blows that are cheaper, check out Tekton's Dead Blow Set.

Does it have a lot of strength?

After using Wilton hammers for 20 years, I have not lost one, but I have never broken one.

That which qualifies

Quality tools are worth the extra cost. The hammers you buy will last you a lifetime unless they are lost or stolen, where they will last the finder or the thief a lifetime. Then they are passed down to another person and will stand the test of time. You might not require a set like this, but if you do or if you want an addition to your collection of tools that you need to use once or twice a year, you know where to find it. Once you have them, you'll be happy. Your grandchildren will be happy when they inherit them as well.

This is what I use everyday in heavy equipment repairs since it holds up to abuse and abuse much better than anything I have ever It would be fun if the mini sledge had a longer handle so that you could really go full Thor on it! It would be easy for me to buy these again. In the past, a handle on an eastwing set separated and I saw the head fly across the shop at a speed described by my coworker as "just below the speed of sound. " I wanted a set that would have better protection against this happening, and I found one that did. In spite of being hit against things a few times, the faces have not chipped and the handles have held up.

The best thing about them is that they are unbreakable! * I purchased sledgehammers and dead blow hammers to replace all my hammers with them since I loved them so much. It won't disappoint you since it's very good quality.

Is it really possible to handle a 4lb load with only a 12" It's a great set of hammers, except for the floor pounder

It's handle is so short, you could only use it for If you try to break your hand with 4 pounds, you'll be injured. A 12" handle is all that is available. This hammer was replaced by a 16" handle with the same weight and power.

Not that it matters now, but the green isn't quite as green as I thought it was. It doesn't seem like there's any paint left on them. What a great set of hammers!.
