Questions & Answers

Is it possible to take out an intruder with a single swing?

If the user is strong enough to break a bone, a single swing could easily knock down an intruder. At 67, I'm 6 feet tall, 210 pounds, and still very strong, and I wouldn't hesitate to use this on someone like a "home invader."

Is it suitable for making blades?

Almost any Sledge hammer will suffice; however, your ability to use your tools will be the determining factor.

How long does the handle extend?

It is dependent on the weight for which you are asking. Regrettably, Amazon's website provides the same ratings and asks the same questions for no specific weight. The 3 pound hammer, for instance, has an 8-inch handle. 75 inches in length The 8 pounder measures 32 inches in length. Which hammer do you want to buy?

Could this be used to break up an unsightly concrete planter by a woman who isn't insanely ripped?

It would be ideal for a strong woman to use to break up an unsightly concrete planter, in my opinion. A sledge hammer with a longer handle is another option, especially if the planter is large and made of thick concrete. The longer handle would lessen the impact on your wrist while also shielding your face and eyes from any concrete chips that might fly up if you broke it. Strongly advise wearing protective eyewear! Good luck with your deconstruction!

Stanley Fatmax 4lb hammer, a beast of a hammer at a reasonable price, which I purchased in conjunction with the kindling cracker
5/5

It's a big, heavy hammer with a lot of power. The hammer has a flat face on one side and a rounded face on the other to maximize force on specific areas. (See photo)br>br>Nearly indestructible handle and hammer will last an infinite amount of time. This was a good buy.

This is a serious breaker of concrete
5/5

Something as mundane as a sledge hammer had never piqued my interest before. I've been dismantling a 20-year-old backyard playground, and there are numerous concrete-sunk support posts. It's a big job to remove that concrete and break it up so it can be easily disposed of. To break up the concrete chunks, I decided I would need a sledge hammer. I was pleased with the design and construction of the Fatmax sledge when it arrived, but I wasn't looking forward to pounding rock with it. To my surprise, this tool was far more effective than I had anticipated, and the job was completed much faster and more easily than I had anticipated. I'm glad I got this Fatmax tool because I'll be using it a lot.

This is a nice whacker with a nice sweet spot
5/5

I get tired of looking for tools when I have several acres and outbuildings, so I buy more. I was attempting to remove some spindle shafts from my John Deere riding mower and noticed that using my hammers, I was rounding the top over, making the process of reassembling the mower with the new bearings more difficult. This little hammer has a nice sweet spot on one of its heads that made the removal so simple that I wished I had twelve more to finish. Anyway, a lot of blunt force was delivered quickly and precisely where I needed it, and my suffering, swearing, and I'll never do this again rants were over. It also worked well with a short handle to remove my truck's muffler from the exhaust pipe. . . though wielding this thing overhead while lying down is exhausting. I have no complaints about this tool, and I'm actually looking for it now instead of buying another one.

This is a fantastic hammer with a shock-absorbing grip
5/5

The hammer has a great feel to it. It's well-balanced, and the handle absorbs a lot of impact to keep your hands safe. It's what I use to hammer a metal wedge, and I don't feel much vibration on impact, and it doesn't require gloves. The rubber on the handle also allows you to grip it tightly without slipping your hands on it.

Excellent well-being Feel the hammer while staying balanced
5/5

This is a fantastic hammer. When forging railroad spikes in the forge, it has a fantastic feel to it. It has a more rounded face and is capable of absorbing a lot of shock. It, on the other hand, provides me with excellent feedback and control. br>It's tough and hard; I hold the hammer near the head, and it's well balanced and comfortable to hold, even around the yellow top. In my personal forge, this hammer will last a lifetime.

As a result, I think the lighter version of this would have worked out better for me
5/5

I used it to enlarge a hole in a concrete wall, along with the FatMax chisel that went with it. My options were to hire someone to do it with a diamond bit for several hundred dollars, or buy my own bit, use it once, and store it. I took about an hour to chip away at what I needed using this manual method. Take a look here: I was chipping with an overhand strike while working on a ladder, so the lighter version of this hammer would have been better for the job.

Don't make the mistake of going for a low-cost option
5/5

I was so happy with my hammer that I purchased one as a gift for a friend. I had considered a less-than-perfect solution for him. two high-priced versions from two big-name companies but chose to spend the extra money on this one instead of the big box stores A tool this heavy needs to feel good in your hand as well as stay in your hand, which the grip provides. As we split logs, it and the handle absorb a lot of energy, so our hands don't hurt after an hour or so.

Hammer, you are fantastic

I took this on a guys trip to learn how to forge and blacksmith. Everyone was responsible for their own belongings. However, by the end of the day, they'd all been using my hammer!.
