Those caps are friction fit, so if you were able to turn the brass down on a metal lathe to the exact diameter and then insert it with a hammer, an arbor press or something similar you would be able to do

As a first point of reference, I own the 15oz version of this hammer and it has hands down been my favorite tool for years. It did not look as good as the one I ordered when I ordered an 8 oz The stain color on it is nowhere near as dark as in the photos, and my close friend has the exact same hammer, and his looks the same as in the pictures. My skin is quite pale, with a darkest vein that is unsightly. I suppose it is silly for me to be upset about something like that, but for $40 I expect it to be nearly flawless and have higher standards of quality control.
This is a great German tool of great quality. Please be aware this is a smaller size, I knew that before I purchased I will be able to use it perfectly for my purposes. This product is light, durable and of high quality. A deadblow hammer like this one is used. If I needed it again, I would buy it again.
I have never used an item like this before. A great value at a great price. This is the best mini dead blow you will find anywhere.
The hammer was excellent for precision, felt good as it swung, and had a great quality feel.
