Questions & Answers

The cut looks clean, but how well did it go? After sanding the nub mark, do I need to polish it?

You will still need to sand the sprue gate nub after the cut since it is pretty clean. Both the cutter and the nipper from DSPIAE are better, according to me.

How much space should there be between the cutting edge and the The only part of my set that matches up is the tip of the tool. ?

On the cutting edge, there should be no gap. There should be no gap between the cutting edge and the working surface.

You got off to a great start! To come up with a pair of new scissors, I spent a lot of time researching
5/5

It came down to the God Hands and these, and I was not bothered by the $40 price tag We don't know whether they're intentional or not). In that case, I decided to give these a shot. The cutting edge does not disappoint me, sorry to be cliche, but these slip through runners like butter. I bought generic snips on Amazon in the past, but they always made a loud pop sound and left a stress/mold line. These snips cut without a fuss or sound. Below you can see my first attempt at using these on the undergate of the sprue previously the gold paint was always damaged no matter how hard I tried, but with these there are hardly any marks (my subsequent attempts will look better as time goes on). It will take time to tell how well these will hold up and how they will fare over the years. I will report back at a later date to see how they are doing.

For those who think $30 is a bit too much for some young children, let me explain
5/5

When you browse any forum that discusses tool, paint, or other topics related to citadel, you'll find that GW is hated for overpriced products and horrible habits. There are some those who recommend cheaper alternatives they claim can produce the same results.

This is true in the vast majority of cases. You can definitely get a pair of nippers that will just "get the job done" for less than $5 if you're on a tight budget. There is however a substantial difference between a $5 pair of shoes and a high end one like these or those that are on par with these In the first place, the build quality is impeccable. It is all metal, and it is fairly heavy. It should last for years, as it is similar to other metal gear. A second positive trait of this head is that it is both thick and The ease of use requires little to no effort in cutting a sprue, and in this case, it cuts! Not pinches, but cuts, leaving the model untouched in those snug I am a new hobbyist on a budget, would I recommend buying these specific cutters for them? That was not my fault, I didn't do it. Originally, I was using a $3 plastic cheapo that "did the job" but as I learned, it would sometimes "squeeze and pinch" the spruce and cause the model to warp or get damaged. After I gained more experience and income, I purchased a pair of decent ones from my local hobby lobby for $17. "Does what it is supposed to do. " is much more precise. In retrospect, it may have been "better", but it was a smaller, cheaper quality tool that sometimes wouldn't stay in my hand due to its small size. Now that I have these clippers, I recognize the subtle differences that a quality tool provides. As a whole Is it possible to find a pair of clippers that will handle your needs for a much lower price? Without a doubt. Does anyone know whether they will last as long as the Citadel or others of the same kind? That is not the case.

Models love these cutters, the best in the business! They cut very well! We had no problems in any way! I would not cut metal sprues however as those will ruin the fine edge
5/5

If you are cutting plastic sprues, these will go a long way. Buying hand tools of any type is something I learned long time ago not to skimp on. There are a great deal of functional and aesthetically pleasing features in these. Make sure you look after your tools as well as any other tool. To keep their edges sharp, oil the blades and use high grit Emory cloth to sand the edges periodically. Only use them to cut plastic or resin sprues. You will hold on to them for a very, very long time if you do this.

GodHand Ultimate cutters are better than average cutters
3/5

Along with the generic nippers, GodHand Regular, and GodHand Ultimate, I also tried these. Although these cutters are slightly more effective than the starter ones that usually accompany modeling packages, they are not by far superior. Even though they seem to be more durable and stable, they don't seem to be The GodHand Regular cuts better than these, at a comparable price.

The GodHand Ultimate is an entirely different animal. Comparing apples to oranges is impossible.

I plan to use these tools to cut thicker plastic material The actual nubs I will use the GHU and/or a knife for I will never use these for that purpose.

The price is too high for the quality it offers
4/5

It took me a while to get these cutters because I had to go through so many. Their look is good, and they work well, almost leaving no plastic behind when I split a model piece from a sprue. GW knows they are ripping people off by charging $30 for plastic cutters. So that's good, but I'm affraid it could be better.
On the other hand, I do see one problem right away, in that the spring is internalized so that there is no way to replace or repair it if something goes wrong, so that is also troublesome.

However, these do look nice and are considerably cheaper than the hardware store equivalent
3/5

It still seems a little outrageous to me as you can buy similar ones for a third of the price at the hardware store. I am also bother by the fact that they have a spring that holds them open, which makes them hard to use. These doors are always open, making them very hard to pick up from the table without a lot of help. It wouldn't be fair to say that I have small hands considering I am 6 feet 2". There is no reason why I recommend these except to those who just need nippers with Citadel on them.

The Sprue is cleaned directly from the blade
5/5

The things they make are worth all the gold in the world. A full disclaimer follows. It was a nice, sharp pair of wire cutters I used before I bought these. I haven't used any other purely hobby cutters before. In contrast to wire cutters, these are much better at cutting through sprues and the angles of the blades enable them to cut closely After cutting a lot of terrain, I can get something that is almost ready for play straight from the sprue (without having to do too much trimming and shaving after initial cutting). It is well worth it despite their high price, as they are constructed so well that they will last me a very long time.

The cutters are good, but the price is a bit high
3/5

I bought these to replace my dad's pair of Xuron 170-based Gunplas as I wanted to retire his. I got recommendations on one of my Gunpla Builder pages, so I went ahead and bought them. There are two In addition to looking nice, feeling nice, and doing their job, they have been doing it properly. It was a shame since I expected more from a $30 pair of cutters. My regular trimming and treatment of gouge marks will remain the same as I used to with the $10 pair of cutters before.
