According to a previous review by a customer, the product is made in the The truth is that it isn't! Worked well, but I prefer to spend my money on products produced in the United States.
A bender is essential if you are working on a rebar project. The BN products make a number of different models, but this one is great for #3, #4, and #5. A wood base has already been attached. These are heavy duty, and your UPS man will appreciate the fact that you don't order one every day. It's worth the extra money to buy long lengths from your local steel distributor and bend or cut them to size if you have a single project in mind. It will be ready to resell any day of the week once you have completed it. We had a lot of guys looking for one at a discount who were willing to pay cash to get it.
I've been using it for several days now and I'm really pleased with the way it bends the bars. Because cutting #5 rebar is usually too hard on my body, I do not attempt to cut this type. Cutting off the ends of wood with an angle grinder and It is recommended that you use the #4 cut. As a result, it was more difficult to use, since the rebar moved forward during the bend this made the tool harder to use. In this case, you have problems when you need a precise bend. Now that the bent is working properly again, after replacing a few pennies cost part, the bender is functioning.
I bought it for my hobby of making rebar art. After watching videos on the product, I made my decision to buy it. According to the videos, cutting and bending #5 bars looks like an easy task. However, it is not as simple as it seems. It is much easier to complete #4 and #3. Ultimately, I found this to be a great product that helped me with my art projects.
For the purpose of this great bender, I use it. Whenever we build in a seismic zone, we have to use rebar of grade 60. Despite the hardness of cutting the rebar, it bends well to a number 5 bar. A 4 star rating is pretty good, as it's a heavy tool. I like the little chain that makes it convenient to carry the handle.
My experience with #4 has been flawless. I bent up 2000' of it without any trouble. I see no weaknesses in the design or manufacture. The handle is long for leverage, well made, and I cannot tell if it is plastic or metal.
Can't cut #5, but can cut #4 if you work it hard, wide.
I love this tool because it saves so much time. The tool works great on steel up to a thickness of 5/8". I love this.
