Product Description

There are 2 different size Sili brushes in this Complete Sili Glue Kit, as well as the Sili Glue Comb/Squeegee and Sili Glue Tray. These 4 items provide you with as many glue up tools as you'll ever need to get you started on your next project. Woodworkers, arts and crafts enthusiasts, hobbyists, and more will love this kit!
Having two different sizes of brush heads on the Sili Glue Brushes is a good idea. A 1" brush has a head of 12" across, while the 12" brush has a brush head of 1" across. The 1 2" brush is ideal for applying glue to narrow strips, and it makes working with small pieces easier. Using the large 1" brush to apply wood glue on thicker stock is ideal. It's easy to clean each silicone brush tip with warm water as each accessory is made from silicone.
Do you know what you should do if you have to apply glue to an area that is larger? Sili Comb/Squeegee have been included to make this a super easy kit! It is approximately 1 inch wide on the comb side. A piece of wood of this width can be laminated together perfectly when you are tasked with laminating two surfaces. A comb leaves perfect grooves for glue to adhere to and cover more surfaces. There is a squeegee side which is about 2 inches wide and leaves a flat smooth glue surface which can be used for many arts and crafts projects.
Sili's Glue Tray is the ideal dispenser for distributing glue throughout your workspace while you work. You will need more glue than you will need in the tray and you can dip the Sili Comb/Squeegee or one of the brushes into it to get the job done. You can then pour the remaining glue back into your glue containers using the funnel end tip on the glue tray after you have finished applying glue to your project.
Designed from silicone rubber, every item in this set is very easy to clean and can be used over and over again. You can also use warm water to clean the brushes, comb/squeegee, or even the tray. Overnight drying of wood glue or white glue on a tray will also ensure that the glue will peel off, revealing the newly made glue brush, comb or squeegee! 1 piece is included in the pack. The 1 inch brush comes in one piece. A 12 inch brush, 1 per package. Companion tool, including a comb and squeegee. In a tray.

Questions & Answers

In what specific way does this product contain a hazardous substance for which the warning under Proposition 65 is required?

It can only be crossed into California if you are going across state lines. It is a necessity to warn everyone about the effects of Proposition 65 on everything that is manufactured and isn't found naturally. As soon as all the fruits and nuts have gone and California is ready for pioneers to reclaim the land, it will turn back into a beautiful place to live.

Could it be done with a glue gun that uses hot glue?

Hot glue sets very fast in a hot glue gun & also, it leaves a big mess Since it dries quite hard, it would be extremely difficult to remove from the bristles.

Do you know if anyone has used these for applying gesso to canvases? Gesso may be wasted by brush bristles and stroke marks left by inexpensive brushes. I appreciate it. ?

Gesso is not a good use for these brushes. You will need a 4 inch and a 10 inch Purchasing a quality synthetic brush without bristles that sheds, such as a Purdy brush, will provide good results.

How does 30 minute epoxy (2 part) interact with these?

My experience has been that epoxy doesn't stick to silicone, but I don't recommend brushing. The bristles of their brushes are too short and brittle There are two things that happen fall out and It wouldn't work well with epoxy, either. If you just want a silicone tray, you can buy it by itself for less than ten dollars. You can optionally use a plastic stirring stick included with most epoxies instead of a popsicle stick.

Spending money is a waste of time
3/5

I applied glue to two boards with 1 1/4" box joinery and the brush was very hard to maneuver inside the joints, I would suggest you use acid brushes from harbor freight. They are available for a few dollars and they work much better than the brush from K&N.

There are no bristles on the toothbrush because they are smooshed
3/5

In the factory, after the silicon bristles were cut, each one was smooshed together to form a solid surface that held tried to quickly the break the individual bristles apart with an awl, but as you can see in the photograph, it wasn't very helpful. There are hat-like bristles on each of the bristles The stems of these plants are thin, and the top is flat. Although I tried to use it, I threw it away for my Rockler unit instead. Although I wrote the seller, I have not received a response. Upon receiving their response, I will update this post. Both brushes needed to be replaced. The comb and plate are fine, but the comb and plate are.

This was a better result The brushes surprised me since I did not think they would be much help, but they did prove to be effective
5/5

It doesn't matter what you use glue on. However, I recommend you rinse them off rather than waiting it out. tray has the drawback of not adhering to glue, meaning that only large dry puddles of glue can be easily peeled off. When you add all of the glue to the tray, you will have a lot of small droplets, which is what you will have if you squirt a large amount of glue in there to dip the brush in. There is a small amount of separation into droplets. The task of getting these small, dry droplets out is considerably more difficult than it seems. If the tray is clean before the glue dries, it's easier to wash it. Glue holds up pretty well and the brushes do an adequate job of spreading it evenly. Quite impressive as well in terms of control. If you need one smaller than 1/2 inch, that would be great. This one works well on 3/4" surfaces, but not on frame and panel things like drawer rails and.

This is so great
4/5

Since I rarely give 5 stars, I am careful as to what I give 5 stars. This is not to say that the product is not awesome, it is just that I am careful with what I give 5 stars to. There is only one issue with this kit which is more of a wish. I wish that it came with a bigger tray instead of the small one it comes with. All in all, it is easy to work with wood glue with this tool.

It would have been better for me to not wait
5/5

I am new to woodworking, and as you can see in many YouTube videos, I spread glue for joints using my fingers or sometimes a flat card, piece of wood, or playing card. Those methods work well enough for me. These tools have made that process much easier, but the tools are exceptional, and they have made this process much When I used tools like these I couldn't believe the speed at which I could accomplish it. It is quick and simple to clean up. The last thing I wanted to do was wait so long to think about.

This is a very useful tool It is an improvement over the brush I was using before
5/5

In fact, I was ordering a couple of glue bottles, so I thought about trying this out. Very satisfied with how it performed today when I was doing a lot of glue ups. Since many years ago, I have been brushing my hair with inexpensive "china bristle brushes. " There has been a big improvement here. It spreads out a nice even layer of glue and is easier to control than brushes. I highly recommend this item because it is inexpensive and convenient. This product is quite easy to clean. The information should have been available earlier.

It is easy to use, and the glue comes off easily
4/5

There is no problem with these. You don't have to get glue all over the place when joining edges with them. There are only two things I'd like to complain about Every time you use them, you waste quite a bit of glue, since they soak up a great deal of glue. Taking so long for all this glue to dry is frustrating. The glue will have to dry for you to remove it from the brush when you pull it off, so depending on weather conditions you will have to wait a couple days. Using soap and warm water is the best way to clean quickly for reuse.

This is a total game changer
5/5

Cheap wood glue is a staple of our household I buy it by the gallon for so many projects. What ever I can, I split with my friends or give them lots of stuff. Two years after installation, it works fine if it is kept well sealed. PIA Downside has been filling stupid squeeze bottles and filling out forms The silicone applicators/spreaders sold in this kit will work well on a variety of floors The tray makes the application for the job & The easiest and fastest way to spread. The glue should be poured into a tray and spread out. It gets to me fast and in the right amount! There is one caution to be aware of * If you are not going to clean straight after the use of glue, let the glue completely dry before cleaning. When it is removed, it is easily removed. *Please note that this glue works great with polyurethane It has been many years since I used these tools, but they are still as good as when I first got them.
