My opinion is that it isn't possible An adhesive dot or some other type of adhesive is obligatory for sticking them to surfaces. Using hot glue would not fix the butterflies for long since the material they are made of is not designed to withstand moisture for very long. Butterfly decorations would be more appropriate for a party or craft project. This may be of some help

I really like this one because it is extremely cute and simple to use. I used these at my baby girl's baby shower and they were a big hit! Just fold in two and release to give a 3D butterfly effect. Anybody would be able to benefit from this!.
