This tape set was designed for work on the guitar neck

Several sizes of tape are used on the fretboard the largest covers humbuckers perfectly, while the smallest covers the fret board. It is only necessary to trim the tape on frets sixteen and up. A 5 star adhesion rate is a result of the tape's ability to hold firm but release easily with no residue left behind. A nice bonus is that the tape itself is quite durable it can withstand a full range of fingernail erasers from 140 grit to 2000 grit without slipping.

It's just the right amount of sticky

It seems to work well, but I was not impressed with how long the batteries lasted. Maybe you should try a different type of tape if you need something that won't leak through when you're painting.
