In order to get the proper angle for a brush attachment, this angle adapter is necessary. My gutter covers are clean now after using it to clear debris off. My only problem was that if I tightened the brush all the way, it was not perpendicular to the extension of the pole. really tighten it down to the point that I could turn it because I had to do a sideways sweeping motion, then it wants to turn. Although I understand that thread length is a factor as to where the attachment ends up when tight, it would be nice to have a locking nut that allows the brush (or whatever attachment you are using) to be angled to anywhere you want.
