It's a newer, more high-tech version of the one we've had for the past 20 years. I'm confident that this one will last as long as the last, especially since it appears to be water resistant.

It's a little pricey, but it gets the job done! DOES NOT WORK WITH AA BATTERIES THAT CAN BE RECHARGED

After the original batteries died, I tried to use rechargeable batteries but had a lot of problems. br>br>So far, this meter has been fantastic. It offers excellent reading on a variety of subjects. I haven't gone through the instruction manual. But there are times when I need a picture and I wish I could turn off the beeping. My only gripe is that there is no backlight or LED to illuminate the analog dial. In dark environments, this meter will not work.
