Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Inductance, capacitance, and resistance are the three primary indicators.
Resistance (1/Q) and dissipation (1/Q) are secondary displays of Q.
Use external test leads or a test fixture built in.
Hi/Low values can be programmed to sort components.
Equivalent circuits in parallel and series

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to test circuits with the Extech 380193?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. In circuit testing isn't possible with the Extech 380193.

Is it possible to test caps with low pf values?

Yes, temperatures as low as 2000pF can be measured. Capacitance 2000 is a term used to describe the amount of charge stored in a capacitor. 0pF, 20. 200 degrees Fahrenheit at 000 degrees Fahrenheit. The year is 2000, and the temperature is 00 degrees Fahrenheit. 0nF ±(0. 7%rdg 5 digit)
20 rdg 5 digit)
20 rdg 5 200 degrees Fahrenheit (F) at 000 degrees Fahrenheit (F). It is the year 2000, and the temperature is 00 degrees Fahrenheit. 0μF, 10. (DF) 000mF

Is ESR going to be measured with this device?

Extech, I believe, uses the terms "ESR" and "SER" to refer to the same measurement. It also makes no sense to me. By the way, I purchased the Extech LCR200 meter, which I do not recommend. The ESR, Q, and D readings are all inconsistent. I am unable to speak for the 380193, as I was involved in an accident with my own.

Selected User Reviews For Extech 380193 Passive Component LCR Meter

Yes, it's an expensive device, but it's a great one
5/5

It comes with test leads, a protective case shield, a 9-volt battery, a manual, an RS232 optical cable for data acquisition, and software for the computer interface, but it's not a great electronic device. It measures component R, L, and C and offers Series and Parallel testing at two frequencies of 120Hz and 1KHz. It will also provide the Q, D, and R (Quality Factor, Dissipation Factor, and Resistance, respectively) of the component being tested. It also has features such as automatic power off to save battery life, recording modes, and auto-recording. Range, Tolerance, HI/LO Limit, and Ave Reading settings are all available. It's a very well-constructed Meter. Because the backlighting isn't very bright and the display has a lot of images, some of the symbols are small, even though they're high-resolution. determination If your eyesight is poor, you may need to squint a little. Mine is in good condition. However, I'm simply attempting to provide as much information as possible. In general. This device is one of my favorites. It's something I'm going to use a lot of. My experience in the aerospace industry includes work as an electrical engineer and mechanical designer.

This is a fantastic little LCR meter
4/5

You might be surprised at how non-traditional some of these ideas are. Some of the electronic components you employ are truly ideal. Your aluminum electrolytic is 4, according to a standard digital voltmeter. The Extech 380193 says it has 2 ohms of series resistance, but it's only 7 uF. In the high-current pulse generator I'm working on, this is a game-changer. I purchased some expensive ceramic capacitors only to discover that they have a value of 0. Resistance of 05 ohms. Ahhh . As a result, they're 20 times more expensive. How about that 0? br>br> What is the purpose of a 05 ohm resistor in measuring current flow? Measure it with a standard DVM if you want to be sure. Mine will not fall below 0 degrees Celsius. If I connect the probes, the resistance drops to 3 ohms. When the resistor is plugged into the Extech, it reads zero. 047 ohms. Yes, this meter appears to be expensive at first glance, but try finding another LCR meter for anything close to the price - Many of them are three to four times as expensive. No, it isn't perfect; measurement frequencies are 120 Hz and 1000 Hz, respectively; a higher option would be nice; the keyboard is one of those rubber ones; I have to press down hard on the key a few times before it registers. br>br> However, if you require the component data that an LCR meter provides, the Extech 380193 is a good choice.

Straight from the package, this dish is ready to eat
5/5

This is the first time I've ever needed one. This came with a strong recommendation. That's why, now that I think about it. If you use it right out of the box, you can eat it. I have far more abilities than I will ever require. Loops are a breeze to set up. Measurements that are as accurate as gold!.

We used to have an expensive LCR meter in our factory, so this is a great meter at a reasonable price
5/5

We purchased this Extech LCR for measuring capacitors that we use in our products after it broke after 15 years and repair cost over $350. br>I was hesitant at first because of the low cost, but I decided to give it a shot. It's fantastic! Couldn't be happier with it; it does exactly what we need, checks out to our specifications, and costs less than the old machine's repair. We use it on a daily basis for about an hour, and the 9V battery lasts about four hours. 6 weeks. We may obtain the power adapter at some point in the future. In summary, it performs far above expectations for a $200 device, and I have no complaints after several months of use. a wise investment.

This is the first time I've purchased one of these
5/5

This meter is more accurate than I anticipated. I'm very pleased with how simple it is to use. If you have a lot of electronic junk, this is a must-have. Component values can now be fine-tuned with ease.
