There are no magnets on the pick end. A magnet is embedded in the base of each handle. The pick end is on the opposite side of the pick end. This is a very well-made pick set.

They're not as good as the picks from the park. The skinny handles aren't my favorite, and I don't think the magnet is as powerful as the park picks. The fact that the tips can be replaced is a plus for me. As long as replacement tips are available and aren't as expensive as a new set of picks, it's worth it.
For the money, this is a nice little set. The magnet LS is very useful, but the steel picks thread into the aluminum handles, which makes them weak. With just hand tightening pressure, it's very simple to strip the threads. Aside from that, everything is great.
These are just a few of the precision tools made by Moody. Recently, it was used to clean chainsaw parts and replace o rings. Another set will be added to my daily carry box. These are the perfect size, neither too small nor too large.
Loctite is a fantastic tool to have. They do what they're supposed to do for the price, feel good in the hand, and can be used for a variety of tasks around the house. The magnet is fantastic. I use a pegboard hook to hang mine from the magnet. To keep the threads from loosening on a regular basis, use blue loctite.

BUYING IS A MISTAKE. Despite the fact that I buy a lot of things online and am a big fan of Amazon - in particular- I don't do reviews very often - You can double-check this fact by reading my other reviews/history, whether good or bad. However, when it became clear that there were none for this product, I decided to make one. Purchase a different product/brand if you want to save money and time. I bought this kit because it was made in the United States. What a knucklehead. On the second try, it basically broke. The kit is reasonably priced at around $15, but FYI, I also ordered the Sheffield Tools 58780 Hook And Pick Set, 4 Piece for $6 Made In China. Isn't it true that you get exactly what you pay for? In this case, however, the Chinese tools are still in good working order while the overpriced American tools have failed. I'll try to return them because I just got them, and I'll report back on my experience. Meanwhile, unless you want to be extremely cautious with your tools, DO NOT BUY unless you're sure it'll work for what you're trying to accomplish. In my case, I believe I was duped and believed I had shared my story. I gave it two stars because some of the items didn't break, and I suppose if you're very careful with them, they could work for some people. br>br>UPDATE SEP/22/2011 I apologize for not getting this out sooner. I was simply too busy. Returning the item to Amazon was simple and painless, just as I had anticipated. free. My previous remarks on the tools have not changed.

It's solid and well-made. If you don't abuse the tips, they'll stay smooth, sharp, and long.
