The lid does not stay closed

The locking mechanism is of very poor design, which is a pity since the level is excellent. The lock does not hold the position very well, and the extension slids very easily open when Carrying one of these is not something you should take lightly. The extension leg will come barreling out if you tilt it in the slightest. There is a problem with the friction lock.

If you are building a new home or renovating, you will find that this level will make the job easier , more accurate, and more fun especially if you do a lot of basement finishing which is what I love it for, since there are so many different heights to measure from
