It isn't exactly clear to me what you mean by "base" dimensions, but when I read the packing slip, it says "24" wide by 7" deep by 8". The measurement is 5 inches All I can offer is what I know, so I hope you find it helpful. Regardless, the actual size of the plate which goes flat against the wall (without the lights) is 24" wide by 4 3/8" high by 35/64"

There seems to be a much higher rate of LED bulb degradation than should be the case. The second time I changed the bulbs, the middle bulb socket itself rotated while I was trying to screw in the bulb. Although I was careful to handle the situation gently, the metal base of the middle bulb broken and collapsed on it's side. On the right are some pictures to show this. What kind of weld is weak? It was a great fixture when it was new, but it now looks trashed. My money was not spent on what I bought, nor was it on what I had.
I found this light to be the perfect solution for my project! This product worked well in my bathroom and was easy to install (it was one of the easiest parts of the renovation). This product is not something I would buy As small as they are, the glass globes that screw on to the metal light post are difficult to access to screw on the retaining ring to the metal post. The screw on retaining ring is the pits as it is rough cast and very difficult to screw Compared with the price of these products, there are better ones available.
