I am replacing it perfectly
5/5

I had problems with my lamp post sensor, and this is the perfect replacement. I found the design to be functional and worked as expected. The rectangular front portion measures 2 1/4" by 1 3/4". The cylinder section is 1 3/8" in diameter and 1 3/8" long (approximately 1 3/8 from farthest aspect of the rectangle front). Quite easy to wire. I ended up using screws that I had lying around since they are stainless steel. As the old sensor was about 8 years old, I guess it is no longer working. There was a glitch in the code that caused all the lights to be on all the time.
I used some caulk around the top half (so water would not get behind). When it does drain, however, it can do so pretty quickly. Upon receiving the item, I was delighted to discover that it fitted perfectly and worked right away.

The solution works! I will update this to remove a star if it breaks down in less than a year, but for now, it is great
5/5

You should know that it matters how you wire the device. As soon as I hooked it up, it did not work, and I immediately got my multimeter out to check it. Black, red, and white are the only three wires. The white wires are bundled together, the black wire is linked to the black wire, and the red wire is linked to the black wire. I think it was the red wire that needs to be attached to the black wire that goes to the lamp. The survey I had to complete was 50-question The first time I was wrong had a fifty-fifty chance of being right in the first place. I love it!.

The unit I received was a dud
3/5

The thing sure looks official, but it doesn't seem to care what time of day or night it is, it doesn't work. A long wait to let it adjust to daylight and then darkness were among the things my dog tried to do, but it eventually gave up after a few curses. Take precautions to avoid being cursed It's not a good idea to buy.

There is no lasting effect
3/5

I have owned it for about 10 months and it does not work. Although it worked for a short time, it was not ideal. A warranty is nothing more than a promise The website for Solo Lighting, if it is even called that, can be found here.

Simply plug in and play
5/5

There will be an eventual failure of all sensors using CDS (cadmium sulfide) technology. After years of putting off replacing the photocell on our lamppost, I decided that the time had come. Normally, not all big box stores and electrical supply houses carry the new sensor bodies, since the user must remove the light head and install it down the tube to get the new cell. The idea of having fun does not appeal to me. My setup can be switched over to this one by plugging it in. Pull out the old sensor, unplug the wire harness, and plug in the new one. Remove the two screws from the front of the old sensor, and pull it out. That's it. A similar construction appears to have been used to make the one that lasted more than 12 years. A couple of simple swaps are enough to fix it if it dies during warranty.

I am replacing it perfectly
5/5

I had problems with my lamp post sensor, and this is the perfect replacement. All worked out beautifully. The rectangular front portion measures 2 1/4" x 1 3/4" while the cylinder consists of a 1 3/8" diameter and 1 3/8" long extension (extends 1 3/8" from the far-most edge of the rectangular front). It was extremely simple to wire using the stainless screws that I had at home. It seemed about 8 years ago when I got my old sensor. It left the lights on all the time, so I wrapped a bead of caulk around the top half to prevent water getting behind the light. When it does drain, however, it can do so pretty quickly. My excitement was so great when it fit perfectly and started working right away.

The quality is very poor
3/5

My front yard lamp post has this installed, and it looks great. Much easier to install than I had expected, but you will need to drill a hole in your lamp post if you want to hang it from it. As soon as I installed it, it began working flawlessly. One concern that I have is that it comes on too early when it is still light outside, so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars. The light takes quite a while to turn off after it gets bright. Having installed this switch 3 months ago, it has not worked. I am going back to the store to try to replace it. cannot get in touch with anyone to replace the battery.

This is the new photo eye I got, and it works fine
4/5

In the event that my current one goes out, I bought one to have in case my old one goes out. I installed it about two months ago and it is already bad. received an update. I am in contact with the company and Amazon, and they have sent me another photo eye, which I installed and has worked since.
