I recommend the solar switch, a wood switch, (also available on Amazon). The post is curved to fit its top. In parallel with the outlet, put the light on the post so that it changes the color as the sun shines. By doing so, you can use your post light as an outlet for such things as Christmas lights and blowers, while still controlling the
There is no solar electrical outlet or photoelectric eye in this picture. Based on the groundwork I have done, this rating is three out of five Designed to be connected to an outdoor lamp post, this outlet is a convenience connector for outdoor lamps. I'm unsure of your fountain application, however I do not believe it will be compatible with it.

I feel that the ground prong should be offset from the wall on the reverse side of the door since the instructions do not state that you must drill a 1 3/8" hole.
Cords that are right-angle cannot be used for connection as they come because they would interfere with the door since the cord would face up.
I ordered this for one of the two light posts that I just installed at the end of a 120' In an emergency, I thought it'd be nice to have power out there. As I was installing the post, I had to drill a 1 1/2 inch hole through the aluminum towards the bottom. In light of the conical shape of both light poles, I was concerned that the outlet would not seal properly. Due to the slight taper on the base, the foam pad around the outlet seemed to be able to seal just fine. I ended up having to predrill two tiny holes for the mounting screws, but they gripped the aluminum without having to be tapped. There is no noticeable difference between it and the light pole. The house has power so far away from the house, which is very convenient.
It might be helpful if the instructions for the outlet were clearer. A hole in the pole was just long enough to fit the wires after drilling. I don't think it makes any sense to waste wood screws when you have screws that No holes would be cut in steel poles. A hole had to be drilled and sheet metal screws had to be found to secure the I'm very happy with how it's working.
Due to my previous experience as a journeyman electrician, my review isn't so focused on the ease of installation. You can install it fairly easily if you're equipped with the right tools and have some My favorite aspect of this product is that it figured my 3 inch pole snugly and it provided a watertight seal. The quality is also very good for the price. There is only one thing wrong with the screws given they aren't self-tapping. But you just need to.
A very poor concept has gone into the design of this product. There is a white plastic gate over the outlet that is supposed to make it "tamper proof," but it is actually stronger than the plug you have to force It gets even worse when you realize that the plastic gate is stronger than the plastic casing and screws that come with it to fasten it to the post, so if you force a plug into it that's strong enough to not bend, the whole box comes loose from.
also need to drill large holes for the wires to pass through as well as drill and tap holes in your posts. I don't know about the quality, but it seems sturdy and durable. Your electrical connection is so protected against water penetration that there should never be a problem. Additionally, it took spray paint well to attain the same color as the post.
This device is made exclusively from plastic and has a cheap feel to it. When the cover is closed, the spring used to close it seems too tight, which could cause the cover to snap. Other than Christmas lights, I do not intend to use it for anything else. Using it weekly for yard work, I might be concerned that I would not be able to get my money's worth from it. We are missing out on curved posts made of metal because no one sells them.
It's a good quality made product. This seems to be made of a fragile metal or plastic and if I don't harm it too much, it should last me for the duration of my time in this house. Attached to the round pole is a separate post lamp that hangs on a cylindrical rod. I've tested it, and it It is likely not easy to find a part like this very selective one. Don't worry about finding a better one. Having found it and finding that it fit perfectly was a great feeling.
