I believe the jar is made of tough, clear plastic that should resist breaking. Since I've been keeping it outside for several months now, it still remains beautiful- Clouding or discoloration is not present.
The lights in mine only come on when the outside lights are turned off (sun or patio lights). In other words, it doesn't remain on the whole
You may ruin the lustre of your solar mechanism if you paint over it. Do not paint over the openings where the light shines!
I think you are asking if the lid comes off the jar, and the answer is no. But our jar had a loose water can, and I had to fix it. A glue stick.

They twinkle at night and provide a nice effect. Our deck has all 3 and we use them all. The batteries did need to be replaced with better quality ones, but after that, they've worked every night without fail, regardless of whether they had full sun or not. The dogs have been outside every day, and while we have had a lot of rain, they are still doing well. To be on the safe side, I try to put the instruments under cover if there is a very heavy or damaging rain.
In a nutshell, It may have taken me awhile to get this gnome, but he finally made his way to my cart. He arrived in perfect condition, and he has been a welcome I and my husband were ecstatic when we first saw the fireflies in the sky!.

The gnome is super cute. When it arrived there was damage to the jar (the jar in the hands had come unglued, so the jar fell out easily and affected the longevity of the lights). When I contacted the seller, he told me he would send me another free of charge. Gnomes are my favorite collectible, and this is already one of my favorites This gnome will look great when I receive a new one, so I'm glad to have a chance to enjoy it.
It was so refreshing to see a lightning bug and I was very happy to see it. Thus, I had to buy it. When the first statue arrived, it was severely damaged, and I emailed the seller to discuss an exchange as I was so desperate for the statue to grace my garden, however, the hat was so damaged during shipping that it would not last outdoors. Replacing the statue became a priority as soon as they responded. This was a great experience for sure, as I am a big fan of good customer service. In my yard, now I have these three twinkling away at night, in all 3 places. The pictures were taken after being out for 2 days, weathered rain, winds, and thunderstorms, and still stayed strong through it all.
It is my pleasure to know The design is adorable and the functionality is excellent. It's so fun how the lights flicker like lightning bugs. The only thing I dislike is if I don't get home until way too late (like after 10 p. m. ) he's out of power, but that's because I usually work too late.
The number of them is now three and another one has been given away. When we replaced the battery with a premium brand, the first one we bought last year didn't last long, and the lights weren't as bright as they should. Both of the other two are much longer and brighter, but I would like for them to extend even further.

The seller took great care during packaging so that the Gnome arrived in mint condition. There's no doubt that Gnome is a quality program. Arriving a few hours before noon was amazing to me. Despite the rainy weather and some sun that night, I was able to get it to work! There was really not much sunlight, yet it lasted for so long. There is a confirmation that I can provide that it is at least six hours. With regard to the spending on this Gnome, I am very pleased.
